    Yeah, I agree. I thought it'd be a very close fight and bet on Pacquiao to win on points. I remember making a thread explaining that Marquez being a lightweight and Pacquiao a welter would not be a factor in the fight as they're basically the same size. I can't believe so many people wrote Marquez off because he was supposed to be smaller. He was always going to give Pacquiao problems.

    I think you're probably right. Duran wasn't hurt by the losses to Leonard, Greb wasn't hurt by the losses to Tunney and so on.

    Duran wasn't hurt by the losses to Leonard because he'd already beaten him in the greatest fight ever and it was plainly obvious that he didn't give a **** about the last two fights.

    it's also stupid as hell to compare Marquez to Leonard who has a case for being the best WW ever.

    ang a pac-jmm fight will still result to the same outcome, be it in strawweight or mega super heavy weight snv style.

    I'm not comparing the fighters, I'm comparing the fights and the aftermath of them. Pacquiao isn't as good as Pep, Marquez isn't as good as Saddler and neither are as good as Duran or Leonard. That clearly isn't the point I'm making.

    If anything it enhances it imo, Pac's obviously dynamic enough to overcome a stylistic disadvantage. Pac's the epitome of a "fighter", if u came to fight ala margarito, Hatton...he will obliterate u. Against "matadors", he doesnt look as spectacular but somehow someway he's still able to press the action. To me THAT takes more skill...to mark up a backpedaling opponent in a defensive posture...ready to counter when your at your most exposed.

    So I dont see how eeking out a close win against a counterpunching specialist in any way takes away from Pac's legacy.....It takes alotta guts and more important;y---skill to beat JMM the way Pac beat him. Closing the distance requires more adept timing than just someone simply backpedaling and maintaining distance.Pac played to JMM's strength and STILL beat him.
