Yeah, that's a bit far-fetched. Watch Tyson films. He has incredible mobility from the waist, moving around and UNDER his targets in order to deliver those awesome hooks and uppercuts. At 6-3 this would be implausible unless he made a habit of fighting NBA centers.
I was next to him at Gleasons for half an hour back in the early 90's. I'm 5-11 and he was at least an inch shorter, unless the floor was uneven or I was starstruck or drunk. However, he looked like two guys stuffed into one sweatsuit.
Not necessarily, a big part of Tysons game was his elusiveness, and he was very difficult to hit cleanly, because the tall guys had to punch down to him, which is far more difficult.
I've heard this too. Apparently it is shown as part of the pre-fight stuff before Tyson-Biggs. It shows Tyson being measured, and he is indeed 5' 11 1/2". I think his build makes him appear shorter.
i talked about wlad and vitali. and when you move under your targets you risk both rabbit punches and kidney punches and also getting caught flush when you rise. but i talked about a bigger tyson with the same technique you talked about. a 5'10" tyson will not reach wlad and of course not vitali. he will be reached himself however , even if he was missed a lot. and a 6'2"/6'3" could apply the technique you talked about which worked so well for him against 6'0"-6'4" opponents against big opponents as you mentioned which are the klitschkos and also lewis. from what i remember from his fight with tucker , tucker quite toyed with him , but a bigger tyson as i mentioned would have stopped tucker.
You mean rabbit punches and kidney punches in a clinch.Right? I think Wlad and Vitali would try headhunting, while Tyson would go for the body.
I think Tyson was about 5"11, or at least 5"10...James Toney is 5"9 to 5"10...Joe Frazier was close to 5"11 but built like a brick shithouse...In fact I was more impressed with him and JJ Walcott in person than Ali, Holmes and some of the Taller guys I met
