It's a damn shame, because hype makes the fight more enjoyable, and this is a GREAT fight!

If Clottey turns up, this would probably be a more exciting fight to watch than PBF-Mosley.

I think though part of the lack of interest in this fight is we have been use to Pac taking on what we perceived as a challenge. Pac-DLH, this forum was going crazy, very few believed he can pull it off and most were finally gonna see Pac get KTFO live. Hatton was suppose to be the first real test, a strong tough fighter who's not weight drained. Cotto was suppose to be the first true WW with skills with a big punch that will land on Pac.

Right now Clottey doesn't bring any unknown entity to the table that Pac hasnt crushed yet. There's no suspense as to whether Pac can take his punch, we assume he can from the Cotto fight, no suspense as to whether he can handle size, 3 times in a row fans picked against Pac using size as a reason, I think they learnt their lesson.

The 6-1 odds explain it best I think. It's hard to sell a fight on those odds, specially when you have PBF-Mosley right around the corner all over the place.

I'll def watch it. It'll be a good scrap, its still a meanungful WW fight. Undercard is decent too, Gomez vs Castillo good scrap, Soto vs Diaz is interesting too.

From my understanding Pac was the favourite against both Hatton and Cotto.

Having the fight in the Dallas/Ft Worth area is the only smart move that Arum has made with Pac since the Cotto fight. To put the fight in an area that doesnt have many high level fights, is huge, it brought out alot of fans that would have stayed away in places like Vegas, Atlantic City, LA or New York.

I actaully think that its going to be a fairly ugly fight in which Pac will win a dec. Unlike the fighter that Pac has looked good agaisnt IE Hatton, Cotto and Oscar, Clottey is a defense first fighter that will make Pac bang most of his shots off his arms and elbows. However his very low punch output and overall inactivity in the ring will make it a boring and uneventful fight.

You hate Floyd so much that you have to take a shot even win it really has nothing to do with him. GB doesnt have anything at ESPN in thier pocket and you know it. But its a way for a hater like yourself to explain why the fight with Floyd is getting so much more coverage then Pac's fight without admitting that Floyd is as the numbers have proved a bigger name then Manny.

    Sad:verysad

I never said he wasnt. Not by much anyways, 2-1 against Hatton I think. Regardless, both fights, fans were intrigued on "what if's", Hattons size & strength, Cotto's size, skills and power. Clottey brings nothing new to the table that Pac hasnt dealt with really.

Its easier to believe that Pac-CLottey is on par with Mosley-Mayweather, except for a global conspiracy to undermine Manny Pacquiao.

One thing I notice about Top Rank and Arum is that they are lacking in mainstream promotion of their fights, including the PPV fights of Pacquaio, which is their top draw right now. How can you explain non-appearance in the NBA All-Star weekend in Dallas? Where was Top Rank and Pacquaio? It could have been a great publicity for the fight, since it will be held in the same arena too. But it seems they do not see it that way.

In comparison to Mayweather, Jr, who is aside from being an American, has the full support of HBO in mainstream marketing. McDonald's ads, having the PPV in big screens, these are massive, massive marketing ploy for his fights. Well, it helps a lot if you have Haymon on your side, eh.

Nobody cares. (Not saying it won't be a good fight.)

This is why Mayweather LEFT Bob Arum/Top Rank. Arum is only looking out for him. With two Top Rank fighters going at it he is more than looked out for. He will walk away with probably 50% of all of the profits.

This is also why Mayweather left. Arum doesn't try to take fighters mainstream to get mainstream money. This is also why Arum hoses every deal and talks major crap.

The Ring has an issue previewing Pacquiao-Clottey. Pacquiao-Cotto was an all Top Rank promotion and that had big hype.

Of course GBP wants to outshine Top Rank but that doesn't really deal with Pacquiao-Clottey not being as heavily promoted as you would expect.
