Joshua loses a fight = insta-bum status and delegated to lumbering oaf Carnera levels.

Never mind that Joshua's wins over fighters like Wladimir and Pov elevate him well above anything Primo ever accomplished.

Show me one fight that Carnera (a two time defending lineal HW champion) looked more like a lumbering oaf than Joshua did last night.

Getting a sprained ankle during a fight doesn’t count.

If that is the best Joshua can do against somebody who fights back, he is a lot more like Carnera than I ever thought.

Joshua does have very tangible accomplishments, and we should not forget that.

He needs to sort this sh1t out though!

Not really considering Wladimir was 41 years old and coming out of retirement and Sharkey was more experienced and proven than Povetkin ever was. If Joshua wins the rematch and beats both Wilder and Fury than he’d have surpassed Carnera, but at this point he doesn’t have the resume.

I’m feeling sorry for Joshua right now.

Why doesn’t anybody want to believe Ruiz beat a good guy?

Joshua has won some great fights, was always in shape and still represents what most casual fans consider is all the right requirements to be a great modern sized heavyweight with skills.

This. Joshua is by no means a bum and is still a talented fighter. He managed to bring the best out of Ruiz. Ruiz tends to fight to the level of his opponent and when Joshua started throwing heavy leather Ruiz gave it back and proved to be more durable. Kind of reminds me of Moore talking about regretting dropping Marciano as early as he did, since Marciano stuck to him like glue after that knockdown and turned it up on Moore. Chris Eubank Sr. was also like that, since he was most dangerous when you hurt him.

My reaction after watching the fight would be that Carnera and Joshua could share in common a shaky chin.

Certainly chin issues hang like a thunderhead over Joshua after this performance.

And Joshua is smooth and graceful compared to Carnera, but seems about as porous defensively.

Joshua is of course a much more dangerous puncher.

Exactly my thoughts after the Ruiz fight.

    Highly suspect Chin and Stamina.

Any Version of Mike Tyson up to the Lennox Lewis fight would have taken Joshua out.
He has a TERRIBLE jab for a big man and fights like he's 6'2"

I was looking at his pad sessions and he was leading with straight right hands and right uppercuts, squaring up his shoulders!!!

    Still good job by Ruiz.

Miller and Ruiz with their styles would be a fun fight! Like a sumo match/boxing match
