The similarities in Pac/Clottey & Trinidad/Hopkins are downright scary!!

Hopkins had been a long time reigning 160 champ. Trinidad had jumped a couple weights but looked great. Trinidad BHop is a little more like Arguello Pryor. A legendary fighter trying to get another belt in a new class but the champ at that weight is just too determined. A great fighter vs a great champion. A great classy fighter vs a street tough fighter kind of brawler who can take it to you. Clottey is no great fighter. Like the poster above Floyd would fit the bill as a Hopkins

Someone should throw guys like NBA and Jacory Racist the ban stick. These racially motivated goblins needs to be disabled from posting their gibberish, or rather.. spamming it!

How about we make a lifetime bet, if Pacquiao beats Clottey you will leave ESB permanently, and I will do so if Clottey in effect beats Pacquiao "like a pinata".

    Deal NBA, Jacory Bum?

Not quite.. Tito campaigned at 160 only to fight Joppy before fighting hopkins. Tito has a much better resume at 147 than Pac having beaten prime Hoya, Whitaker, Carr, Reid, and Camacho at 147. Tito campaigned at 147 most of his career. He moved up for a while to 154 fighting vargas and a few others before making the jump to 160.

A vaguely similar scenario between completely different fighters at a completely different time means the same outcome? You can draw coincidences all day. Pac should beat Clottey because he's a better, more skilled fighter. Anything can happpen in boxing and there's a chance because he's smaller, but Clottey doesn't possess the skill level and skill set Hopkins had when he beat Tito.

Pac ain't looking to unload to Clottey's head..
I see them going for a chop down full out body assault because of Joshua's high guard.
I don't think team Pac fears JC's punching power?

    Will be a good fight...

:dealTrue statement but to add something in, the better skilled fighter in matchups doesn't always win.

I see very little similarities between the two, but I am beginning to get the impression Pac and Roach maybe underestimating Clottey here a bit. I have heard the interviews Roach has done and he seems to think they are going to just break Clottey down and stop him in the later rounds. Clottey is a much tougher customer than most people expect and he has a rock hard head and chin and he also has never been cut in his career. I think this is going to be a very tough physical fight.

I don't think an upset is outside the realm of possibility...this fight definitely has all the makings of an upset, but I swear to God, there was a post very similar to this leading up to Pac's fight with Cotto. But the thing is, the only way Clottey is going to beat Pacquiao is if he shows something he has never shown before. Pacquiao just has to be Pacquiao.

Clottey is not going to win. He will do what he always does. He will be in the fight and do just enough to lose.

I'm sorry, but I just can't see Roach underestimating, or miscalculating anybody. He is just way too intelligent when it comes to studying fighters, and knowing what his guy has to do to beat them.
