For a single bout it must be the nation willing on James J. Jeffries to rip the title away from Jack Johnson. Tremendous pressure.

The expectations of Sonny Liston to keep the title for a long time were rather heavy as were the expectations for Shane Mosley to become as 'sweet as sugar'.

Apparently, JFK asked Patterson not to defend the title against Liston, and Floyd replied that if he didn't, then the championship would have no meaning. For saying no to the POTUS, and choosing to face Liston on his own, Patterson deserves full credit.
In all fairness, he's been quoted as saying he brought a disguise to other matches he had, not just against Liston.
Evidently, JFK didn't expect Patterson to beat Liston, a perfectly realistic expectation. But where pressure is concerned, imagine how much easier it would have been to abide by the President's suggestion!

I imagine Max was under significant pressure from the Fuhrer as well. If we're discussing pressure on both sides, Louis-Schmeling II probably takes the cake.

Ted Sanders was his name. The draw with Collins really pissed him off and his most memorable performance, a tko loss to Kinchen. I got to put that up for you people when i get the chance

hector Camacho? How you can put hector in the same company as those chumps? My man is a multi title champion and go unbeaten from 1980-1990

Yes, The first thing that came to mind was the incredible expectations put on both Louis and Schmelling in the rematch, we are literally talking about a microcosm of WW2 waging battle in the middle of the ring.

Well he seems to fit LW and JWW well at this point, but there is no really good challengers at those weights now. Only a possible PBF fight. His only logical move is up to WW, which may be too big a jump, or at least one to sustain against the the current crop there.

He is right now a very good fighter, in a weak time overall at his weight classes. He has no top flight challengers to make the jump to the great tier, currently.

Beating the undefeated Bradley, the veteran Nate Campbell or the overhyped K.O machine Valero would add to his resume. Safer option than him getting destroyed by Cotto :deal
