I read carefully right through this thread - found some points I agreed with and some I didn't with the OP.

One thing stands out though - you don't discuss PugillisticPower, you harangue.

I'd have to disagree with point 3. Some of the greatest fights in the world remebered by casual boxing fans are the heavyweight battles even a modern day example would be Haye v Vaulev. Although i agree that there not exciting anymore.

This thread is about the HW division, but you keep bringing it back to one man. A guy with no chin, yet you still think Frazier, Tyson, Ali, Liston, Lewis or Holmes would have no chance against him.

You seem to think these great fighters would be unable to get past Wlads jab just because some fat ordinary fighters of today cant. :huh

1.Compared to lower weight classes, heavyweight boxing is more about size.

Like duh you ****ing moron. There is no weight limit at HW as opposed to other weight classes. It's like saying the sky is blue. This was always the case. Foreman had no skill and was the HW champ ko-ing smaller guys like Frazier.

2.Compared to lower weight classes, heavyweight boxing is less about skills.

    See point 1

3.Heavyweight boxing produces less great fights.

Bull**** and you are a moron. Historically HW has produced the biggest fights. Even now HW title fights have more fans in seats.

4.Great fights don’t get made as easily in the heavyweight division.

    See pac - floyd

5.Fighters often come to the ring in dreadful physical shape, short-changing the fans

Americans come in fat. Again this is not possible at lower weight because of the ****ing weight limit.

6.The heavyweight division is extremely weak and has no depth.

If you say so. I don't agree.

The one reason I like the HW division

    1. You can't call yourself the baddest man on the planet when your weight is 147 pounds and bigger club bouncer can kick your ass.

As a general conclusion: you are a moron.

Have you actually followed the heavyweight-scene for a while? The division is better and deeper than it has been for a decade. Klitschkos, Haye, Adamek, Povetkin, Chagaev. No young prospects coming up? Boytsov, Solis, Pulev and Helenius.

I agree with some of Popkins arguments, but they are the reason why the division gets me frustated, not dislike it.

How can you dislike the hystorically most impressive division in the sport? No other division had so many world wide recognized fighters like HW.

Today, as already said, HW boxing is decent, to say the least. I can think of at least 5 other divisions which are in worse state and 4 which are in a similar condition.

Are you serious? A white personable American HW champ would be one of the biggest stars in this country period. Race has nothing to do with it, nationality does. That said, the Wlad isn't exactly the most exciting fighter out there and that also hurts his cause here in the states.

This was the weakest section of a feeble post. You have waxed lyrical about some seriously dull and insignificant fights and fighters in a failed attempt to defend a declining graveyard of a division.

    If you seriously think that:

Then I would very much like to see your top 10 or top 20 fights ever, because either you haven't seen many boxing matches, or you're flat out talking BS.

That fools no-one. You're a ducker. Either put up your top 20, or disappear. :good

I read this post and was reminded of that famous photo of a couple of rednecks with the "Morans" sign.

Exaggerating a bit for comedic value. But I stand by my comment that you can't call yourself the baddest man on the planet when you are 147 pounds. That's smaller then the average man ffs.

    PS: You're still a moron.
