I rate Usyk #1 p4p. And have done so since he beat Gassiev. That said size matters and while I give him a good shot against the top SHWs it will be an uphill climb.

If you saw Usyk in real life you would probably think to yourself that is one big ass dude. If you saw Joshua, Lennox Lewis, Vitali or Wlad in real life you would think that is just some absolutely, ridiculously massive person.

It's the difference between being really big and then just absurdly massive.

I once met, talked and stood next to Wlad. It was a joke, how tall and massive and muscular he was. And training camp wasn't even close to being finished. I'm 6 ft tall and well overweight, but Wlad was one massive dude. I think that Usyk might be too small. Joshau is as big as Wlad and even more muscular. Usyk has the skills but not the height, I guess.
I will be rooting for him anyway.

He needs to set a good pace from the start and I can see him getting a few late KOs as these heavies gas pretty badly.

I can imagine they will try alot of clinching and leaning on Usyk to try and sap his energy.

I actually think Wlad is bigger than Joshua. Wlad looks like he has the larger frame and AJ looks more bulked up from weights.

This. Wlads frame was naturally bigger

I also thinks hes stronger and punches harder. I'm not a fan of either Joshua or Wlad. Actually both bore me, (their fight a notable exception) but if Wlad had been 6 years younger then AJ would have been stopped and I really dont think there is a debate there.

I agree. He would've pushed back the challenge of Joshua if he was younger imo too !

    That’s not a fair comparison
That was AJs first true test
Other than Dillian Whyte he fought no one prior to Wlad
AJ was green still is relative to Wlad experience. Don’t forget earlier in his career Wlad was stopped by some unremarkable opponents

I'm just under 6'3. About 230, not really in the best of shape right now, but basically the natural size of Usyk. I'm used to being the biggest guy around, usually by a good bit. But AJ? Wlad? Fury? They are absolutely massive, take it to a whole other level.

People don't like to hear it, and usually don't like to believe it, but size matters in combat sports, especially in boxing. Smaller than average, movement based fighters just do NOT have an impressive record of success at HW. The odds are against Usyk. It would be a historically huge accomplishment if he were to buck them.

Wlad looks like an athlete , proportional and lean , he has that V shape upper body. AJ looks like stuffed sausage on juice

The only top flight superheavyweights active at the moment are Fury and Joshua, maybe only Joshua if Fury turns out to be done.

The rest are either overweight fighters around Usyk's height and physical dimensions, or stringbeans only a couple of pounds heavier than him. I think Usyk does just fine.

That's the thing about boxing; the more skilled guy doesn't always win. Sometimes, size and power are just too much to overcome.
