Terrible commentary, every time marquez landed they would go silent. I honestly don't get it, is there an agenda they need to push with Bradley at the moment, is Hearn trying to line up a fight for one of his fighters with him or something?
What is a realistic ask though is that on a commentary team of up to 3-4 people that they are at least not all biased for the same fighter because that just comes across as them being told who to support during a fight by TV companies. Also I do not understand why it is impossible to expect non biased commentary. They may feel a bias internally but they should at least try to hide it. They are after all being paid a good wage for this.
To be honest most of the time I watch Premier league foot ball the commentary seems pretty unbiased. At least in comparison to boxing where it is quite simply beyond a joke.
I agree, mate. I slagged Watt off in Boxing Monthly for biased commentary 20 years ago and he hasn't changed.
Completely agree. Nowadays they're turning all sports into a soap opera, football is worse. Write the story beforehand and commentate 100% on it, even if events are proving otherwise. There was a lovely moment last night, Marquez threw a wild punch and Halling/Watt were saying what a tired attempt it was, next came a Bradley swing that missed by miles, Halling came in his pants saying imagine how confident Bradley must be to throw a punch like that! Bradley obviously won but even I had to turn the sound off at times, Halling was killing me with the Bradley love.
Nick Halling doesn't call the action and ask Jim Watt questions he constantly gives his opinion as fact and makes up why the fighters are doing what he thinks. Bring back Ian Darke
