He's not even considered a welter IMO. He's considered retired to me.

Ultimately whoever ends up becoming the clear cut #1 at the end of the day needs to fight FMJr.

Right now I see it as:

Williams (superficial #1 by virtue of equation)
    Margarito (defeat Cotto, loss Williams)
Cotto (loss to Margo, beat Quintana/Judah/Shane)
Clottey (dismantled Judah, looked good against Margo)
    Quintana (credit for Williams win)
    Mosely (looked good against Cotto)
    Collazo
    Berto (untested)
Zab (needs to go to Jr. ww -- showing up for a WW fight at 143 with an opponent at 157+ is just silly)

You are falling in the old trap for boxing fans:
    (ie A lost but looked against B, B killed C, D only did miedocre against C therefore A>D. )

Predicting head to head based soley on this kind of mathematical logic doesn't really make sense. Styles, circumstances, so on and so forth.. matchup uniquely. You know this.

And in any case, using your own logic:
Mosely looked good in losing to Cotto.
Clottey looked good in losing to Margo.
Margo beat Cotto therefore, Clottey > Mosely.
    :yikes

Nonetheless I think this is the correct and IMO Mosely lose to Clottey with a late TKO/KO.

#1 - The smoke hasn't cleared yet! Too much unfinished business right now.

#2 - Only true Cotto fans, or those who just despise Williams, for whatever reason, would have Cotto at #2. I can halfway understand (but disagree vehemently with) someone putting Margo at #1, but to put Cotto right up there under him when he clearly could not do something that someone else clearly did do is ridiculousE.

He shouldn't be ranked below Cotto. Many people look at the Quintana fight as an excuse, but williams reedemed himself. That is what rematches are for.
