People say that the reason people watch MMA is because all the top dogs face each other. Well SMW is increasingly going in the opposite direction.

Kessler-Larsen (which wasn't all that interesting to begin with - Larsen is 10 times better than a guy like Rubio or Lockett though...) fell through and now Kessler needs to fight a mandatoy against a guy with only 18 fights (two of them losses). Good heavens!

OK, Perdomo did actually have a good win against Valasco (who Larsen had trouble with) but come on. The WBA is screwing up boxing.

But even those that actually have GOOD mandatories are struggling - look at that bloody Froch-Taylor fight. And Bute is fighting a bum who's only claim to fame is being smashed by Pavlik.

We'll have to wait for Abraham to move up before it gets interesting. But first he has an engagement with a bum ranked #50 by boxrec. Bah.

You sound like the type of "fan" who likes to throw the word "bum" around quite a bit.....

I'm guessing his problem with the Froch-Taylor fight is it's taking forever to be announced.

As far as I know it's signed and they are simply waiting for the venue to be set before they announce it.

Froch-Taylor is on, Bute-Zuniga is what happens when 2 guys pass on the fight (Larson and Green). Andrade-Bute II is likely on it's way next year if Andrade beats Tsypko.

    I expect SMW to rebound.

Zuniga is not a bum. You should know him better before calling him names. Pretty decent for an optional defense.

Have fun at MMA watching bums on the floor with no action. It's so boring they are changing the rules to be sure those bums stay up more often and box.

P.S. I like to watch MMA. I'm just doing the same thing you do.

SMW is one of the stronger divisions at the moment. Just because there isn't a Calzaghe-Kessler type match up every couple of months doesn't make it a farce.
Taylor-Froch is a big fight imo.
The winner v Kessler would be epic.
I wouldn't mind seeing Kessler fight someone like Dawson either at some point, after he cleans up in SMW. Though whether Dawson can come down to SMW or Kessler has to move up i don't know, all i know is that the Light Heavyweight division is set to suck balls anytime soon and Dawson should look for a fight like that.

Inkin?? He has lost his zero though.

Balzsay? But he is Hungarian. He was the one who beat Inkin in a very entertaining and close fight.

I'm not sure anyways that Balsay wants a shot at Kessler right now. His promoter will want to pile some cash before a unification. Balsay needs a couple of fights before fighting Kessler.
