In 2004 Marquez had hell against Pacman that ended up in a draw with Marquez getting knocked down 3 times. Four year's later in the rematch Manny was a more ''Improved'' fighter and that fight ended up in a SD for Pacman that time Marquez was down only once and clearly won that fight. Then 3 years later Pacman was a so called a much more ''Improved'' beast which ended getting a MD in a fight which Marquez didn't hit the deck not even once and CLEARLY won and was called robbed by many. I alway's thought Manny was far more of a beast at the lower weight's then he is now. :bbb
I think Marquez said himself the more manny tries to be a technical fighter its easier to read so therefore a top counterpuncher like marquez can really take advantage. When he was more wild, it is harder to know what he's doing so you cant set traps, anticipate the counter, know where the punches are going etc. Think he said it on 24/7. Could be wrong though, ill try and remember.
I wouldnt say he was easier. Pac got hit less then he did in their last two fights. The fight was close, not wide like you think it is. He's clearly a improved fighter from a technical standpoint, but styles are styles and they don't totally change. .
Manny is still the same old Manny. That is a fact. All these Pac fans got spoiled watching him fight flat footed come forward guys with no defense or great foot work that allowed Manny to get away with his technical flaws. Manny can't cut off the ring for **** and his foot work is average at best. *******s mistake his foot speed for foot work. JMM used all that **** against him. *******s want to say he cheated bc he stepped on Manny's foot from time to time not realizing that it happens with different stances. Roach told his ass to get his foot on the outside several times and he couldn't do it. He is the same Manny that JMM fought in 2008.
My thought echo those of JMM. Manny trying to be technical is easy to read for a technically superior boxer. Pre-prime Pacman who fought much more wild was in many ways a tougher proposition.
