    When did this happen ?
A fighter getting hit so hard he did a full somersault backwards.

Battling Nelson is quoted on another thread saying Aurelio Herrara hit him and had him doing the full somersault.

And I think burt mentioned seeing something like this years ago ....

    any confirmed instances?

is that as in doing a full somersault and landing back on your feet?

Well, I wouldn't deduct points if they messed up their landing.

U, How can I ever forget the left-hook that Al Bummy Davis landed on
his opponent that catapulted his victim backwards, causing a back somersault ko. Never saw that before or since. About that time or so
my dad and I saw Bummy Davis flatten a great 8-1 favorite Bob Montgomery with his vaunted left hook that put the Bobcat in La-La land
in I minute or so....Bummy had the best left=-hook I ever saw from
an ORTHODOX position [left hand extended]. cheers.

If I recall, I believe his name was Oscar Suggs, and it was at the B'wy Arena in NY. About 1944 or so. My dad used to watch Oscar Suggs father
Chick Suggs fight in the 1920s.

The closest I can recall would be Ali landing on Mildenberger near the end of the tenth round of their title fight in 1966. Mildenberger had been doing quite well in that round and Ali caught him with a punch that decked Karl and he rolled backward over one shoulder before getting up.

If this thread has anything to do with Suzanne Somers posing for Playboy, I'm in.
