Liston could have taken Clay's 5 big mouth friends all by himself. Those 6 including Ali were lucky liston didnt come out and kill them...you don't **** with sonny liston in a street fight.
Man, that cat was just the freshest dude around.. He was indeed the Boss when it comes to being the daddy... Sonny was the heavyweight champions , champion... I dont know many fighters who dont just love Sonny in one way or another, just a simple hard man who didn't care for any fancy dan bull****.......... If the world would have left Sonny alone he would have never bothered no-body, and probably still been around today...
The Big Cat Williams vs Liston #2 was a huge fight in Houston. Though the Cat lost....the Houstonians always adimired Liston.
If you liked the photo I found of Sonny holding the chair for his wife then check out the pictures I'll be posting under the heading - CORBIS PHOTOS. I found that photo of Sonny on a great photography site called CORBIS. You can find all kinds of wonderful photos of people there. Take a gander. Bob
Yep, I spent a summer in Houston in 06, and everyone all of the adults there knew who Cleveland Williams was. he built himself quite the reputation down there
He's holding that chair so easily that it almost looks asif someone photoshopped it in his hands. Great pictures.
My boyfriend and I just watched the Sonny Liston documentary that HBO did a while ago. We also watched one espn did. I think it's called "Beyond the Glory." My boyfriend is a big boxing buff and I asked him if he knew anything about Sonny's wife, Geraldine. But he doesn't. And said I might find answers here. Does anyone know how Sonny met his wife? How he courted her? I'd be interested to know the romantic side of such a guy.
If Liston came outta his house and grabbed Clay by the neck, all those other assholes would have run for their lives...leaving atrail of **** behind them.
That was the Denver house that the Young Clay visited,,,,,,,,,,, Middle-class neighborhood, nice and quiet.
