Michael Spinks wasn't really a lights out puncher on the scale that some are making out, but he didn't have to be. He was the complete package. You think Roy Jones is unorthodox well so was Michael Spinks. He found ways to land all sorts of shots from seemingly out of range, even a lead right uppercut which is sacrilege at the elite level. He would have to cut that out against a cat like Roy Jones Jr, but his herky jerky foot movement and uppercut body movement would see him disrupt Jones' rhym like no fighter has before.

If he lands the Spinks Jinx often enough then I think Jones would eventually succumb to the power. It did have a lot of power, mainly because it was so sneaky that the opponents never saw it coming. It would be a competitive equation, Jones most likely winning the early rounds due to Spinks being a slow starter, but in the end he'd start land. He had a great jab, out jabbed Holmes in their first fight, and this would be a factor, certainly.

I would go with Spinks on a decision, but a late stoppage is certainly not out of the realms of possibility. He did have knockout power...in both hands.
