Single fight contracts will not happen. Nobody is crazy to do that. In the UK sports agents can sign soccer players to a maximum 2 year period, maybe something like that could work ( 18 to 24 months contracts )
A single belt per division would be a good thing for sure, would get rid of all the fakes and phonies, overnight boxing will be dead in Germany and well get WBSS type tournaments in all divisions :)

But if you think Dana White and JayZ can save boxing.......:risas3:

I’m sorry, but Shields will never become a top attraction. She’s fugly, inarticulate, and she’s so much better than her overmatched opponents.

Dana White caught lightning in a bottle with TUF and that Griffin vs Bonnar 1 fight, that made so many new fans. Ever since signing that Fox deal, Reebok deal and finally selling Zuffa to WME the UFC and MMA in general was been losing fans in droves with non ppvs shows routinely doing worse numbers that boxing and WWE. Not to mention if McGregor, Rousey (who is retired) or Jones (who is under ban for failing pre/post fight drugs tests) who draw decent buys aren't fighting, then the rest of the UFC PPV events without them fighting generally draw Ward/Kovalev 1&2 type buys. Dana had a hell of a run, despite constantly getting in his own way with feuding with media, and other promoters, but th

I haven't watched any mma since the last Miocic fight. I don't even bother to record it anymore on BT and I was hooked on it ten years ago - even that Ultimate Fighter nonsense. Boxing has all the class names and athletes.

I've never understood this weird view. People are happy to see consenting men box, but not consenting women. Why? The thought of my girlfriend getting in the ring with Katie Taylor makes my stomach turn, but then my girlfriend isn't a pro boxer. Seeing two female boxers go at it is no more unsettling than watching two male ones. Actually, women simply can't punch as hard as men, so invariably the women's sport is less brutal.

When people watch Golovkin and Canelo, for instance, it's "two boxers". When the boxers are female, it's "two women". Strange. Where I live, they even let women drive cars.

Each to their own but by and large the gap is so big between a Katy Taylor and her opponents the fights don’t come close to being 50/50 and that’s not something I enjoy watching men never mind women.
Driving cars Lo is vastly different to watching two ladies damage each other and just because they let em do it doesn’t make it good to watch either.
Boxing is a blood sport so you’re point about em being physically weaker and therefore less brutal is most probably the reason the public have voted on their feet re women’s boxing.

In a sport where knockouts are cheered I’m just merely pointing out that it’s either uncomfortable to watch or just downright boring and until they have equal fights then I can’t see it changing.
I know I have an antiquated view of this but I do believe women are the fairer sex and just because they’re allowed on the front line it doesn’t mean I ought to agree it as the thought of em losing limbs is not very nice all in the name of equality.

Exactly my point, who wants to see her beating up nursery teachers and the like?
By and large the whole feminism thing is a psy op and generally means women who hate men, fortunate for us that the majority of women still like men despite what the ABC news channels tell us.

There have been known articles you can read back from when Jack Dempsey was champion about how "boxing is dying" or "boxing is dead." And every decade after that, boxing fans get together and discuss how the sport is dying or will soon be dead. Nah.

Can we also acknowledge that those age 50+ have a whole lot more time with less running around to watch live events on Saturday nights? And that probably that same ratio holds true for the actual subscribers to HBO so it would be expected to be such?

I know this wont come off proper but... out of all the issues holding boxing back, sexism and homophobia are waaaaaaayyyy down the list, imo.

Youre right though... the sport needs to up its game.

It's ironic how you want to highlight LGBT issues and women's right issues, yet your whole post is centred around "ageism".
Let the 50+ year old people sit and watch sports on television. What's your problem with that ?
Why can't you accept older members of society ?

I think it's more likely in the future the government bans boxing or castrates it to the point where it's not as interesting.

Boxing and MMA are niche sports so ya... MMA has been struggling and will get more struggles simply down to it being harder to build a star in MMA vs Boxing.
