Well obviously the two of them will have different viewpoints, but I'm more inclined to believe Teddy based on how wild and out of control Mike was at the time, and how Teddy clearly has a volcanic temper and was already growing tired of Mike's behavior.

I tend to believe Tyson as Tyson is usually very brutally honest. He says something to the effect that "Teddy wants people to believe he's some kind of tough guy but you think he'd ever come and say that story to me? It isn't true. He felt like I owed it to him to stay with him when he was on his way out and when I didn't he blew it out of proportion then made up the story about his niece or cousin or whoever it was, but you think he'd come and say that to me?"

I think Teddy would, to be honest, if he felt the need or if he Mike got into a discussion about it. I don't think Atlas has any interest in seeing Mike again though, and Mike has no interest in seeing Atlas again. Those two are better being away from eachother because things would probably get extremely heated.

I find it very hard to believe that Atlas would approach Tyson when there is no camera around, or anybody around for that matter, and say that to his face. If he passed Tyson in a dark alley he'd most likely look down and hope Tyson didn't recognize him.

    Can't say I blame him.

If Teddy was armed he would. I'm not saying he'd confront Tyson, but if the two got talking and the subject was brought up Teddy would stick to his guns. He's not just some guy who just plays tough for the cameras, he is a legitimately tough man. Obviously his fighting ability can't compare to that of a professional fighter, let alone that of a professional champion fighter.

I think Atlas even mentioned in his book that there was tension between him and Cus because Cus was sweeping all of the trouble Mike got in under the rug and Mike was being let off of the hook for all of the bad things he'd been doing.

Atlas was Mike's trainer before Rooney and up until the incident with the gun, so I'm not really seeing how he was trying to take Mike away from Rooney.

He is mistaken in that Atlas was trying to take him from Rooney, but the issue was Atlas wanted to discipline Mike and take away the gym, and Cus that it was a bad idea to discipline somebody as fragile as Mike in that way. Cus was disciplinary in other ways though. When Atlas and Cus kept bumping heads on how to raise Tyson (Cus was the adopted father, kind of silly of Atlas and not his place), Atlas was being removed from the equation and Rooney was being brought in as a replacement. Atlas wanted Tyson to remain loyal to him and remain his student. We all know how well that worked out and the rest is history. Atlas was fired, Rooney came in, and Tyson became the most electrifying heavyweight in the history of boxing.

Teddy is not a man you or I would want to get into a street fight with, but you had better believe that when confronted by Tyson with nobody else around, you are not going to see some hard ass tough guy. That would be suicide, as it is probably that Tyson could and would kill him with his fists had they fought bare knuckle.

Yep, had I been Tyson's trainer I'd have taken Atlas's approach myself, but looking back it's obvious how successful D'Amato's way was.

Tyson would litterally put your average Joe into a coma with a single punch if he hit them as hard as he could. Luckily, even Tyson has that kind of restraint when he gets into scuffles with people outside of the ring, which obviously include fellow professional heavyweight and Tyson oponent Mitch Green, who Mike just unloaded on.

Atlas not being your average Joe would still be knocked cold with 1 punch. As far as I know he carries a weapon on him at all times and he'd definitely be smart enough to use it when involving Tyson in an uncontrolled area. He wouldn't be dumb enough to get close to Mike if he could help it, but you're 100% right, if they should get into an altercation 1 on 1 with pure hands Atlas would be destroyed in a very shot amount of time. If they should start out by exchanging words I'm sure Teddy would hold his ground merely because he has such a bad temper, but he wouldn't even consider trying to fight Mike.

If Mike attacked Atlas, well, Atlas is screwed.
