    Very good boxing fight last night.. Munoz looked good at the start of the fight, but Mijares stayed calmed and got comfortable.. I fell asleep for the 11th and 12th round, but from all the other rounds I seen, both fighters were taking shots, but Mijares was in control, frustrating Munoz, and staggering him at times.. Mijares doesn't look like he has a lot of power, but he sure did rock Munoz a few times last night.. Just like you said though, bring on Mijares vs Montiel.. I wouldn't be surprised though if there is a rematch between these two.. However I see Vazquez murdering Arce..

    AJ BANAL GETS WORLD TITLE SHOT!

    It was announced on BS (and it's on the boxrec schedule) that young talent AJ BANAL will fight for the vacant WBA SFW title (left by Mijares who became 'Super Champ' in unifying) vs. a Panaman guy named Rafael Concepcion.

    So Banal, at the stunningly young age of 19 can become a world champion before his 20th birthday! Of course it's one of those paper and absolutely meaningless titles and I've never heard of Rafael Concepcion before... but it's on.

    Hey bigbone, is that pic in ur avator from oldboys. Wot a fukin movie m8. Rated very highly in my book. The scene where he eats that octopuss had me hooked. U know of any similar movies?

    Do you agree that this possible unification fight is the Mayweather-Cotto of the super flyweight division?

    Mijares: stunningly skilled, very fast, fantastic boxer with underrated power (I think he underrates it as well - have more confidence in it Cristian!)
    Montiel: a very powerful, totally underrated warrior who looked even better than Mijares in his last 2 fights (especially in chopping down Castillo). The similarities with Cotto are great. He's not rushing it but choosing his shots carefully and placing them perfetly to do the utmost damage... he did to the A level Castillo what Cotto did to the C+ level Gomez - hurting his opponent with every single shot with perfection - and now he did the same with Maldonado... physically strong Darcinyan and Donaire had to take him apart and break his will in 8 rounds but Montiel just crushed him in 3...

    And how about this: the only opponent in common between Mijares and Montiel is Maldonado, who in fact had a draw with Mijares! Of course both Mijares and Montiel are getting better and better, and truly, you have to see the similarities between this possible superfight and Mayweather vs. Cotto... and below 122, it's just as big...

    Montiel vs Mijares is the fight to see below 147 lbs IMO. Arguably the hottest fight that could be made sub-welter weight.

    We need to see it.

    Vic Darchinyan is BACK! And now he's joined Mijares and Montiel as the 3rd champ at SFW, probably the best division in boxing today.

    So, in the past few days AJ Banal tried but failed to crack into the elite and Vic did it in stunning fashion! The division is getting better and better! Imagine a Montiel/Darchinyan or a Darchinyan/Arce fight! Absolutely HUGE!
