The Super Middleweight division is looking its weakest in years. Many dont realise this because they are fooled by the advertising of the Super 6 tournament, which gives the division fantastic exposure, but the division itself is arguably at one of its all time lows.

A Ward - Is now not looking as great as many believe. His only win is over an already beaten Kessler who was suffering double vision. With illegal headbutts ending the fight early.

L Bute - Isnt fighting anyone as a champion, who hasnt already been exposed, though neither is Ward to be fair.

Both these champs are feasting on already exposed and beaten fighters, and due to the state of the division, there dosent seem great challengers coming through like there always has been in recent years.

The other top SMWs are mostly already beaten fighters.

We have been spoilt in the Super middleweight division for years with excellent fighters.

The Super 6 is now at a low to how it started. Pre tournament favourite

has already been beaten many times and wasnt even a force at SMW in previous years, but now with how the division has dipped, he has become a contender :patsch. He was clearly beaten years ago by Branco and Ottke.

Both fighting in North America, I wonder if that is shaping your opinions???

Super-Middle has never been strong, its only that it was dominated the past few years by European fighters and NOW its not. Stop cring and enjoy boxing.

I would say with Ward, Bute, Abraham, Froch and Kessler the division is strong.

Better than some of thesuper middleweight top 10s of the passed anyway.

    For example;

    1.Calzaghe
    2. Ottke
    3.?
    4.?
    5.?
    6.?
    7.?
    8.?
    9.?
    10.?

Terribly ignorant, because you had Calzaghe, Ottke, Beyer, undefeated Kessler, Lacy (tell me an active American SMW witha better resume? You cant), Reid, Mitchell, previously Eubank, Benn, McClellen, Collins, Nunn, Rocchigiani etc

You name AA who has had limited SMW experience :patsch:lol:. Kessler who has already been beaten by a class listed above, Ward who only has Kesslers name on his resume, when unwell :patsch, Froch who lost to an unwell Kessler :patsch, and Bute whos hardly fought anyone :-(

Point proven that you are fooled by TV advertising

This so insane. In boxing a loss is like never winning. So what? You win up to 30 bouts and a few of those are championship fights and then you lose one ONE! and you get counted out. WTF? Seriously, no other sport seems to have that problem Even in mma guys lose almost the same amount they win and are counted as legends and the greats.

Agreed. it was so much more competitive when Joe Calzaghe was ruling the roost beating off fierce competition like Kabary Salem, Tocker Pudwill and Peter Manfredo Jr.

If Calzaghe, Ottke, Kessler, Lacy, Beyer, Ried, Eubank, Collins, McClellan, Benn and Collins were all in thetop ten at the same time thenyou be right but they were not. There was a lull between Benn Eubank and Collins to Calzaghe, Kessler, Lacy.

When Calzaghe and Ottke were at the top and not fighting eachother, there was a period of uninspriring supermiddles. IT was this uninspiring period which I highlighted above.

Your comparing resume's which is odd because that writes off Ward, who is relatively new at world level but still of obvious quality.

This top ten is better than a lot of 168 top tens of the passed - this isnt an 'ignorant' view.

Newsflash: When you have a tournament => Everybody will have at least one loss, except for the winner

Man how ignorant can you get?

Supermiddleweights are one of the strongest divisions going. you tell me any other division that has the top level fighters fighting eachother on a regular basis. i thought this tournament was going downhill and that johnson green would be a boring decision but after last night its given me some hope
