It only gave us a classic froch vs kessler and another unreal match of froch vs AA We alos got war vs kessler. Bute will get into the mix and now we got the roadwarrior gonna battle one of them. I dont give a **** what you say. We are getting great match ups and thats all that matters *****

has already been beaten many times and wasnt even a force at SMW in previous years, but now with how the division has dipped, he has

    :patsch

so what are you trying to claim that because these guys have lost fights it makes the division weak, the Sm division is one of the best in boxing at the minute.

Lets not make this a Calzaghe thread. Its about the SMW division, though your comment does show the void. Pudwill was a late sub for Tate who pulled out. But now you have Bute and Ward living off Calzaghe and Kessler leftovers. Ward is fighting Bika next which just shows how poor your point is

While the division is not as good as many would believe, to say it is at it's weakest is blatantly untrue.

I would say that all the current fighters are not as good as a prime Calzaghe and none of the current champions would have been very competitive at the divisions peak with the likes of Jones Jr, Toney, Benn, Eubanks and Collins etc.

There is definitely a level of depth in terms of the number of world class middle weights at the moment. It's just they are not as good as some of the very best of this division. Froch, Kessler, Bute, Ward, Dirrell would all be out classed by the best fighters to fight at 168lbs but they are good fighters nonetheless.

Its not as strong as it used to be. That is a fact. It may have alot of the top guys in the division fighting, but they are fighting leftovers of the past. Read the first page :patsch

Agreed there are some good match ups, but the division isnt as strong. You could get 2 c level fighters evenly matched, give a great fight, that dosent mean they are even b level fighters. G Johnson years ago was a b level SMW, now a competitor years later in the S6, which is supposed to be the cream of the division. Get it now :D

Your actually advertising the SMW. So many dimensions and fighters fighting each other, how many other weightclasses are doing that? The level of opposition isnt poor by any means, they all have unique styles that shape for great fights, and with the sudden inclusion of Glen Johnson on the scene, things may have become even better. Does Johnson have the skill to beat abraham, ward, bute, dirrel, froch? Probably not, but he sure as hell will promise big fights.

So why complain? Be patient, the winner of super 6 is just 3 fights away, Bute signed a deal with Showtime, and Bute vs (winner of super 6) will happen, which will be HUGE for the sport of boxing

You misunderstand. I like the S6, and think it gives good even fights, just pointing that the SMW division isnt as talented as previous years

Ward would hold more than his won against previous SMW champions.

I dont even like wards style much, but he woud give serious problems to toney stylistically. Ward would give hell to calzaghe with his awkward way of fighting and he can also fight southpaw.

Im not saying he would beat everyone, but give him 2-3 years and then we can evaluate the weakness of SMW decisively
