    - Butes just getting started and had more title fights than Lacy :patsch. Bute may very well go on to have great success and I wish him the best as a fighter who I enjoy watching, but lets not forget he was lucky to many not to have a KO loss to the limited Andrade who Kessler clearly beat

    - Mitchell had never been clearly beaten before losing to Calzaghe, and had beaten Liles, future champ Siaca and drawn with 2 weight champ Girard and looked unlucky to many against Ottke. Consider also that Mitchell was often the away fighter, which deserves credit

Im not looking to prove anyone wrong and would get no satisfaction in being right, but no one on here has been able to clearly dispute my points. The thread has come down to people trying to hype Ward and Bute because they are undefeated, but forgetting they are feasting off of leftovers of already beaten fighters

A good point would be if G Johnson the 14 losses 2 draws wins the S6, as Johnson couldnt last in the SMW division years earlier and lost to Ottke, Branco and Vanderpool for example

so what he has clearly improved and unified 175lb and Koed jones in the process, but in your blinkered vision a fighter cant improve, they have a few losses so now they are

    "leftovers"

    ready to be

    "feasted on"

Same old ridiculous garbage dont know why Im responding :tired:tired:tired

The Super Middleweight division hasn't had so many competitive fighters in a long time.

Whether they lose amongst each other and don't keep perfet records will not change that fact.

Calzaghe's reign at 168lbs hasn't had anywhere near the present level of available competition. With that said, he would beat all of them but atleast his record would look so much better than it does now !!

You're right in a way. But, who can Bute fight, that isn't a "leftover"?
It's true that beating mediocre fighters doesn't increase a boxer's standing, but it shouldn't diminish it either. You can only beat the guy who steps in the ring with you.
What can be indicative is the way someone "feasts" on these "mediocre leftovers". Bute dominates them and takes them out. Even when he was still green, he beat Bika as well as Calzaghe did. Ward, on the other hand, couldn't even finish off either Miranda or Green.

Its not as good as when ATG's like Roy Jones and Toney were in it.

But its certainly stronger then when it was dominated by Euro-Bums. We actually have some athleticism and skill in the division now. As to why the Euro-Bums are being exposed.

You say Dirrell and Ward don't have the resume of Ottke? Both are only in their mid 20's. what had Sven done at their ages? Give them time(assuming Dirrell wants tough fights) its only very early in their careers.
