What I think dosent matter. Non biased reports like The Ring and Boxing News both scored for Froch, and Froch did outland Dirrell. I think Dirrell could have won that fight, but didnt, still maybe if he had of tried more, he may have been more open and been caught.
Okey. I got bored about the 4th or 5th post : Ward has the mentality of a champion (listen to his interviews ) I like that about him ... i hate that he doesn't box more. That may cost him on the popularity chapter but by choosing that style he is safer in every fight, he wins them that's more important. Also i think that style isn't fit against everybody. I want to see him against a counter puncher (Dirrell-Bute-Froch). You bash Ward cuz he has fear .... well fear isn't bad in the right amount. Fear is a protective mechanism. "A fighter has to know fear." "The hero and the coward both feel the same thing, but the hero uses his fear, projects it onto his opponent, while the coward runs. It's the same thing, fear, but it's what you do with it that matters." "To see a man beaten not by a better opponent but by himself is a tragedy." I actually think Dirrell has a bit to much fear. I think that's why he lost the Froch fight. The fear that Dirrell experienced against AA and Froch might not be there for the Ward fight because he isn't a big puncher... actually i think he's the opposite . That fight will probablly be won by the one who moves better hits faster and by the one who has better accuracy and sharper punches.
Same here.. Im from the Bay Area and have been a Ward fan since the Olympics.. Its great to see him grow as a boxer.. Andre Dirrell too their upcomming fight is going to be something to watch...
Nice assesment without comming off like a know it all.. like a few of the origanal posters here... I agree Im looking forward to seeing ward against Dirrell, Bute, and Froch.. the first 2 are his biggest challenges Froch on the other hand is a sitting duck.. His style is all wrong for Ward.. Ward Tee off without impunity on Froch.. Thats what I think but then again thats why they fight the fights..
So basically can have two scenarios : I was thinking UD Froch ... but many think AA will Ko Froch. Arthur Abraham needs to change something(we will see how good his trainer is) to be able to win while Froch needs to keep that jab in his face all night throw punches that will demand respect for the middle rounds and very important he has to keep his work rate high for the whole 12 rounds ...not to gain points like he should've done in the Kessler fight but to keep AA off him (Dirrell did it with footwork Froch has to do it with high work rate) On the other hand Froch get hit and hurt by big punches towards the end of the fight when he gets tired and sloppy (don't get me wrong I ain't saying that he has bad stamina) Key to the match : 1 Froch needs amazing stamina(better than in the Pascal/Kessler fights) in order to be safe in the later rounds against a starving(for glory) ex-champion 2 AA trainer needs to make some small but very important adjustments in their game-plan / Abraham needs to be driven by ambition in this fight but even more important in his training prior to the fight Ps: If Froch tries to trade punches with Abraham like i heard him saying in an article he gets KTFO.
Perhaps we'll see a more active Abraham. Froch has been improving but I kinda doubt he can keep AA off him for 12 rounds.
abraham will knock him out in the first 5 rounds, because froch will trade with him, and i bet it will be a one punch knockout
In hindsight, probably a very good bet, because of how things are worked, Ward will never have faced an undefeated fighter in the competition, will have no less than his first 3 fights at home, and his biggest win of the competition will probably be Kessler, a fighter who was exposed by Calzaghe and has never looked the same since. Good pick
