There wasn't any seconds left, so the rules state the fight is over as soon as the downed fighter rises and his gloves clear the floor...

this is the truth, regardless if bute looks like a world beater, he still cant get at 6 of the top ranked supers in the world

he could go after the two guys eliminated and doing them in impressive fashion would lead nicely onto fighting the winner

Being with HBO and never getting invited rings a bell to you ?They wanted another american to preserve the 50/50 of USA VS EUROPE And why should he go in there(to the guys that dropped him so fast-showtime) like a spare tire ffs he's a proud champion

Right if he beats the best he's not the best . He only just beat the best ...sure Easy thing anyone can bet the best right ? He only has to fight the 1 loss the winner will have if he have 1 ...and that's it

I don't understand a word of that. Sorry mate.

Bute cannot be considered the best in the division untill he fights and beats the guys at the top of the division. Pantera has been a middleweight it shows nothing. I'm not saying Bute isn't good but we won't know untill he faces the best which he certainly hasn't yet.

You can only beat what is put infront of you and he has done that so far, but time will tell if he is the real deal.

The guy was saying if Bute wins against the winner of the s6. Bute is not the best SMW. He still have to beat all of the s6 or at least some of them .
I think if he does that he is the best ...and only to cement that he will have to beat the man that caused the only defeat that the winner of the s6 has if he has 1.

Andrade Froch would be a war but end of the day Froch is underated he can box when he isn't war mongering. Froch would win imo.

Miranda is crude and had already been stopped before. His attitude to boxing is very strange. Green is a decent fighter. Obviously Edison beat Green before could be closer if they fought again.

Fact is Bute isn't fighting the best in his division which is sad to see because he looks one of top guys but is he the best...we may never find out.

    I agree with the guy.

For me to be the man you don't just have to beat one guy even if he is the man at the time.

Styles make fights and you have to prove that you can beat top guys with different styles.

Bute would need to beat the winner and then fight one if not two of the other big names in the division. Because up untill now he has faught no-one.

That would be the best move for him, I hadn't thought of that.

Whoever wins the tournament is the best without doubt, if bute then fights the winner and wins he's the best.

My enduring image of Bute is of him finishing the first Andrade fight on the seat of his pants...Bute is nowhere near the best in the division, and avoiding the fighters in the super 6 will certainly not enhance his claim.

    IBF USBA Bout Rules
    Chapter Knockdowns and Knockouts
6.The bell will not save a boxer in any round of the bout. If the boxer is "downed" just before the 3-minutes bell in any round the referee count shall continue and the bell will not ring until the boxer rises and his heands clear of the floor.

:good I will check because I'm almost certain that the ref, like always, has to ensure that the fighter is fit and able to continue if required...it happened a couple of years ago were a fighter was stopped on his feet after the final bell as the ref determined that he wasn't in a position to continue. I'll dig out the vid.

I've just checked out the last round of Bute - Andrade I and it is as I thought. Bute gets knocked down with a couple of seconds left on the clock, the ref leaves the count for what seems an eternity telling Andrade to get to the neutral corner (which he was already in :nut )...in the meantime Bute has risen at about 7, the ref takes up the count and at 8 checks to see if Bute is ready to continue (which he patently isn't) he motions the fighters to continue and the bell goes ending the fight. IMO as Bute was absolutely in no position to defend himself the fight should have been called for Andrade, and this would have happened before the bell sounded to end the contest.
