I think it's a great tournament although it would have been better with the likes of Bute and Pavlik involved. I think people are getting frustrated because it's so damn long between fights. How many times can you look at the same league table before you start to get bored?
In a past thread I called it the "Super Fix" and most people disagreed. I sensed that some fighters were getting some unfair advantages... however most in the community thought I was wrong. You are not the only one...
Yes the thread starter is a known Cazlaghe nut tick. Thus the screen name 46and0 which was Cazlaghe's record. In the mind of those fans the super-six will only be good if Kessler wins. for them it shows how good Joe was in beatting Kessler who then goes out and beats the top fighters at the weight. The problem also is with Froch who has never been a favorite to Calzaghe fans for his outspoken stance on Joe and his lack of facing young hungry fighter and him claiming that Joe was scared to fight him. Now the other group of people that think bad of the super-six are fans of Pavlik and Bute. The rest of us have seemed to enjoy it so far. Yes sour grapes is what is driving the minus side of things for most of those that dont like it so far.
I like the tournament so far and the reason people feel like its a let down is because of the injuries !!! The main problem for this tournament is its on showtime and also a lot of fighters to the public are unkown. Only hardcore boxing fans knows these fighters but average person doesn't. Also theres not a big high profile fighter on here that would take this tournament to the next level. Also I dont know why are people bitching because at least the fights are free on showtime rather then have to waste money on a shitty ass PPV like The Event aka The Letdown !!!!
Utter nonsense. I never mentioned Calzaghe once you muppet. My post wasn't about Kessler or Calzaghe, it was about the tournament in general. Moron. :roflatsch
it was a good idea. well excpet the fact that they got jermain taylor. theyre just unlucky. but it was a good idea and it was great for boxing. we would rarely get to see super middle weight fights here in the philippines but we do now because of this tournament so i think it is still a good idea.
I sure has a few setbacks, and until now the tournament sucked with the exception of the Abraham vs Taylor bout. But it was only the first round, now we got Abraham vs Dirrell and Froch vs Kessler which are 2 compelling bouts. The worry of course here is that there's going to be a 'hometown' decision in both of these fights... If that happens there can be no screwups anymore or the tournament ends in a farce. Then 4 of the 5 fights have been controversial and then nobody takes the outcome seriously anymore.
Miranda? :huh He already lost 3 bouts against 2 of the participants, and got also KO'd by Pavlik, who apparently is a joke to a lot of people on this forum... Think he's not the man :-(
