I know some who were not fans of this when it was announced, but it was the closest thing modern boxing ever saw to back in the day when the top talents fought each other often in such a short window. While it was in a non-traditional divisions of 168 pounds ( super middle ), it really defined the era. I'd like to see another one some day. Perhaps the format could have been handled better, with a straight knockout tournament (no pun intended) like the WBA tourney in the mid-60s rather than the round robin they went with. But the idea was right. It was the best fighting the best, something we see far too little of in boxing.
