    3. Ruslan Chagaev <<<<<<<<< Deontay Wilder
    4. Alexander Povetkin <> Povetkin
    5. Nikolay Valuev <<<<<<<<< Kubrat Pulev
    6. Sultan Ibragimov <<<<<<<<< Louis Ortiz
    7. Samuel Peter <<<<<<<<<<<< Parker /Whyte / Miller / Joyce
    8. Oleg Maskaev <<<<<<<<<<<< Adam Kownacki
    9. Juan Carlos Gomez <<<<<<<<< LOL Tony Bellew easily
    10. Alexander Dimitrenko <<<<<<< LMAO :risas3:

Comparing that mickey mouse era to this one is like comparing Coventry FC to Tottenham FC.

The post Lewis / K2 era was the laughing stock of not just boxing , but of all sports. It was the thinnest talent pool of any organized competitive sporting endeavor and a black mark on the face of boxing which is now being erased from history thanks to the likes of Joshua , Wilder , Fury and Bellew :cbiggrin2:

You are going to look foolish at the end of the day in when I remind you of the posts you posted...lol

Let me guess Usyk beats them all right ? Yes you were one of the cry babies on here bc I don't rank him at HW..I get it now.

Maybe when he actually has a HW fight with a top guy he can put on his record it would help?

I'm not just going to list him blindly just cause....that's what you would do bc you want to and have no logical thought process why!

They're not going to make any impact at HW.

    Perez? Lol

Jennings maybe. But I categorize him with Hughie and Ruiz..these guys gonna have to show me more.

I'd rate the top 2 guys as better than anyone in this current division, though if Fury comes back 100% then he has an argument for being just as good. Povetkin in his prime too was probably better than anyone other than Fury and Joshua. But other than those 3 guys I'd say the current top 10 overall is better.

Chagaev was a great amateur, but who did he beat? Valuev and Ruiz are his best wins, Christ Haye beat those guys too.

Valuev was never that good, was lucky against Ruiz and a 46 year old Holyfield. Haye with a broken hand beat him, by barely doing anything.

Ibragimov much like Chagaev was a good amateur but as a pro he did very little. Best win maybe a 44 year old Hoylyfield who has already lost to Donald, Toney and Byrd. A shot Holyfield on your resume is nothing to boast about.

Peter nothing more than a big punch and a solid chin, basically Chisora with a bigger punch, nothing special.

Juan Carlos Gomez, really? Guy was KO'ed by an 11 fight novice in a round during his prime. How is he top 10?

Dimitrenko, the guy who was beaten by Eddie Chambers and KO'ed in 3 by Parker, not even top 20 let alone top 10.

Without Ali vs Frazier the 70's era then can be looked at without hype.

This era isn't reliant on two guys carrying it.

It has 3 and all are undefeated prime guys at peak....I believe Fury will be stronger in his return.

Most of these guys aren't in prime yet and are by far more polished boxers overall then the 70's when you look at all the Olympic caliber coming out.

There's not going to be a shortage of fights for a decade....that list shows you that.

If Klitchko was still in the mix it blows away all the eras.

The only comparable one is the 90's.

And even then you didn't see Bowe vs Lewis the best possible match up , you didn't even see Tyson fight Lewis in that era, people on here just have selective memories.

You are the only one who has brought up Usyk.

Who has Trey Morrison beat to prove he's top tier? How do you rate the guys you have from 5 down above Hughie Fury?

Who has Dubois beaten? Who has Rock beaten? Who has Arias beaten?

How?....I will wait for your stupid post as you are a gift that keeps on giving.

The 70's era even without Ali and Frazier was impressive. You had Foreman who was a monster in his prime and who even in his 40's and past prime was competitive with the top 90's guys. At the end of the 70's you also had Holmes win a title, you had 4 ATG's in one era, all who you could make an argument for being top 10.

I don't see 4 ATG's in this area, though who knows with time, but I doubt it, we'll be lucky if we get 1 or 2. So 70's era had greater depth for me.

Wilder let's be honest so far apart from one fight is a joke. His reign has been manufactured, maybe he can turn it around and beat Joshua and Fury but I doubt it and the ease with which some have out boxed him despite his height and reach, combined with that chin says to me he'll never be seen as an ATG.

Fury at 100% maybe the best of them all in this current era, but I've always seen him more like Bowe than Lewis. He burned brightly for a few fights but since then he's been burned out. I doubt he can build the legacy required to be an ATG, but you never know.

Joshua has the best chance of being an ATG, his career has gone as well as it could have, speedy rise to the top, mainstream success, best resume in the division. But he's still short in terms of a lasting legacy and many will always think Wlad would of beaten him in their prime as he got so close as an old man.

But as you say the potential is there. But that's all it is. You can't claim this era is great on potential, greatness is earned not given on possible achievements.

So what have Trey Morrison and Arias and Rock shown you to be ranked that Jennings, Ruiz and Fury have not?
