Always liked the way Ike can pop his jab off in amongst his opponents assaults. Only watched a couple of his fights though admittedly; maybe it's more exposure to Forrest that means I haven't seen all the nuances in Ikes. As I said, it's more down to Forrests dimensions. If he had a shorter reach and used it in the same way, no, it probably wouldn't be that potent of a weapon. And yes, whilst I agree he had to set a certain tempo to make it really work, I just think Forrest, in his own tempo, had a better jab. In that respect, I would agree that Quarteys was more versatile, whether that's 'better' or not, well, it would be as fair an argument as any. Quartey was more versatile than Forrest in many ways from what I can see. I like Forrest as a fighter though. When he was on form, he was on fire.
Quartey had the turtle shell and that Ghanaian style where he would sort of lift his whole bod into his shots and commit to each one. Thats what gave his jab such power. Clottey does a poorer immitation of this style.
excellent > great, even in lowercase. In face, lowercase excellent is better than capital GREAT. It's just a more powerful word. Not as powerful as "awesome" (when used sincerely), except awesome is so often used in an ironic or exaggerated sense and in its watered-down state in those contexts usually just means "merely somewhat good". This has been Superlatives With IB. Thanks for tuning in. You're an awesome audience.
excellent=great=GREAT Excellent is the same as great but more understated. GREAT is just the least unsubtle variation. Quartley has the better jab wyhen compared to Forrest. Calzaghe has the best probing/controlling jab, the best for winning fights.
Iv done this thread before....Nobody had a better jab than Ike Quartey. And when they fought...I believe Ike was clearly robbed..again
Excellent=great=super=GREAT=SUPER More understated------>Less understated You are confusing excellent with brilliant. Brilliant is less than immense but is greater than great and excellent.
