Lewis was a coward ? Yeah, he was knocked out twice, came back and stopped them both. You are just a hater, no point in talking to you further .
It's happened before with my articles. I think of a title I really like only to find some obscure highlight reel on youtube has the same title after the fact. I know you're kidding, but there is nothing new under the sun it seems.
Lewis did not rematch anyone who gave him a tough fight in victory. Not Mercer, not Bruno, not Vitali. Hmmm
Since when does being a random forum poster give you the credentials to call a 2 time HW champion a coward? Coward??? Calling any professional Boxer a coward is demented. How many pro fights have you had? How many months did you have to stay away from your family while killing yourself in training camp? Im not even a fan of Lewis but you must be either mentally handicapped, under 20 or over 80 years old.
As a fight fan i have every right to judge as i see fit in front of facts. We are talking about a fighter who never gave rematches to opponents who gave him a tough fight, a fighter who on record has said "I gave him a chance to fight, he was my mandatory but i am not fighting him again". No warrior does this.
Absolutely, he was scared shitless to let his hands go against a guy who was not even mentally there.
Exactly. Thats all you are. A fan. You are not his peer, so you dont get to judge anything. Notice how anytime someone quits in the ring, uses excessive movement or does something that the fans consider dishonorable, the only people using words like coward or ***** are those old farts like Larry Merchant who never boxed a day in their life and some 15 year old fans on the internet? The other fighters and trainers, when interviewed or asked for their opinion, for the most part dont pass judgement and dont use words like coward. Why? Because they know how tough boxing is, how much work and siffering goes into getting ready for a big fight and even stepping into the ring once makes you more courageous than anyone who just enjoys the sport from the sidelines. Lennox Lewis had already put himself through an ATG career and didnt owe anyone anything. That is abundantly clear to anyone who even had 1 amateur fight and can therefore imagine how much work a pro career takes. Im not a fan of Lewis neither of his style nor his personality but the arrogance of some of the people here is astounding.
Lewis deserves to be judged based on his actions, words just like anybody else. If the prerequisite to judging any fighter is to be a fighter yourself then why have this forum and have fans come to watch fighters fight in the ring. Might as well just let the fighters fight in the ring alone with empty seats and no one watching because only a fighter can judge another fighter.
