no hes a winner, tko6 proves it. 2-3 years is silly, but its true that everyone looks forward to winning the world title, and lewis had it. noone cared about facing vitali for sure though, relatively speaking.
Sure we can all give our opinions, but youve gone beyond that when you called him a coward. Using words like that and passing judgement in that way should be reserved for those who have the credentials to back it up. Coward is too strong of a word to use unless youve been there yourself and shown more courage
how is a boxer a coward. I mean sure,y uo might use established nicknames like Chickenson or Cowardzaghe but thats just names people give them for fun or to reflect relative actions like those guys not fighting anyone for years. Thats not cowardice, thats pysstaking of their fans. But using the word "coward" to physically describe a boxer, ie saying they have coward-like qualities that make them a coward in essence and meaning, isnt right.
You keep repeating this and its getting tiresome, Lewis fought Mercer in Dec 96 he had one more fight against Witherspoon and retired until Feb 1998! Bruno was not a ranked contender after the Lewis fight why would Lewis fight him again after stopping him ? If he had done you would be criticizing him for avoiding some one else!
exactly! umm lol unless u mean me, as a youngster i did turn up at grangetown b/c but got my face kiked in by a 12 year old and soon opted for judo instead (where i got my face kiked in by a crazy 10 yr old i swear he was on PCP)
You cant blame Lewis for being confused as hell in that fight. McCall crying in the ring is as far as I know the only time in the history of the sport that happened. I mean yeah it is Lewis job to knock him out, but I don't blame him for taking his foot off the gas when McCall started crying. He wasn't afraid to let his hands go, I think it was more a mix of confusion and sympathy. McCall had clearly stopped defending himself and refused to throw back as he cried. It was obvious he didn't want to be there but it was such a bizzare incident you can't really fault Lewis for reacting the way he did. That fight never should have happened at all. It was Don King that forced it, pulling McCall out of rehab when he clearly needed to be there. But you can't blame Lewis for McCall's breakdown. Lewis did his job and beat his opponent, without destroying a guy who seemed like he wanted to be punished for the wrong reasons.
Seems like you far outstrip Lewis with the sore loser comments. End of the day, Lewis beat both Vitali and Tyson and nothing is going to alter that fact. Take a deep breath, put it all behind you and relax, then you may get to the stage where it stops affecting your day to day life.
Little insignificant pipsqueak fanboy keyboard warriors calling a fighter like Lennox Lewis a coward.
yes worst ever lewis easily destoryed prime vitalis face in less than half the fight. Should have brought on wlad for a KO2 straight after really.
