I presume your matching the Tarver who fought Woods with the Calzaghe who fought Hopkins, right?

I would pick Calzaghe, although Tarver is criminally underated on ESB. I wouldn't be surprised if Tarver won a close decision, I just think Calzaghe's workrate and style would enable him to score more points over twelve rounds.

Calzaghe would be all over Tarver like flies on ****; he would take a few big punches, but would land enough of his own to eke out a comfortable UD.

Yeah, the Tarver that fought Woods and the Calzaghe that fought Hopkins would be closer than most people expect IMO.

I agree, when he actually turns up and applys himself he's a quality boxer.

I wanna see Calzaghe take on Tarver, Jones, Pavlik, Dawson. If Calzaghe is so good and half of thess fighters are past it and the other half too inexperienced, lets make those fights happen. It's all in a year's work and and it would answer all those questions.

The Euros on this board seriously overrate Joe C.

If Joe couldn't handle B-hop. What the hell is he going to do against Tarver is is going to be more active yet still manhandle him.

The Tarver against Woods pushed a lot of his punches and at times was just putting combinations together without serious intent. That said, he had a good workrate and still landed some beautiful shots. Not a prime Tarver by any means, but he could still be very dangerous to Calzaghe. Tarver's straight left down the pipe would land regularly.

That said, Calzaghe likely gets a decision. Intriguing fight.

He is not going to do anything with Tarver. Tarver got his ass handed to him by the same "senior citizen" that Calzaghe just defeated.

He is an overrated shitbag still living off his KO win over Roy Jones.

The reality is Tarver is not even in the picture.

Oh yes Joe was so spectacular against Hopkins.

Did you see the Woods/Tarver fight?

    Yes.

Are you going to try and attempt to convince me that Tarver somehow turned in an awesome performance against the worst version of Woods i've ever had the misfortune to lay eyes on?
