So I'm new to betting online and in the "props" section of my client, I noticed something very interesting. First: The odds for Pavlik winning by KO are 5/6 (Win 5/6th's of what you wager).

There is another bet called "Points handicap" that pays out 6/5ths. Here's how it works: If the fight goes to decision, the three judges score cards are added up and if Pavlik wins by a wider margin than 6 and a half points, you win the bet. MOST IMPORTANTLY, it says "Any KO is a win." So my question is: Why would anyone take the first bet to win only 5/6 of your money back when you can take the second to win 6/5ths AND have a little insurance in case Kelly wins a wide decision? How can the odds be like this? I know I'm missing something in my ignorance.....:huh

EDIT: I think I'm wrong about what I originally wrote.. I'll email bodog and if they answer me I'll let you know. My best guess is that at +120, it actually means any KO for TAYLOR wins.

Also, one interesting thing is that the Pavlik by KO odds are almost exactly the same as the "Taylor gets knocked down or out" odds.

Good to talk to you agian, huki. How'd you know it was Bodog?

It's difficult to imagine that your theory is correct, as it says "Any KO is a victory" should obviously imply the fighter you're betting on. The odds for Jermain with a plus 6.5 point handicap or KO are listed at -160. Compare that to his other odds and it's just as absurd. Right now I can only think that the line "any KO is a win" must have been leftover from a previous fight prop and they forgot to delete it when they used the space for the Taylor/Pavlik fight. A mistake like that seems so inexcusable though.....who knows.

I was gonna write them myself, but if you're going to I'll just wait to hear what you learn. :good
