The Term "Tomato Can"...

    Sounds legit ... I prefer glass to tin myself. Just so long as the glass is heated up enough before sealing the preserve.

    Agreed,

    I've never considered Chuck Wepner to be a tomato can, outside of just his tendency to cut and bleed.. For me the term applies to those fighters who systematically show up on fight night to follow the script of losing and who have records of 5-15, 3-12, etc.. Chuck Wepner retired with a winning record and even recorded a few respectable victories.

    I think Wladimir Klitschko looked like a tomato can against Sanders.

    In Spanish it's "pastel de papas" or "bag of potatoes."

    to me growing up it was always a dude that had a loosing or horrible record that was called a tomato can.

    a sub par fighter another dude uses to PAD his record with easy wins.

    a guy that would cut easy was always called a "bleeder" from what I recall.
