nazim is a great trainer but you're right since the margo fight people have been seeing him as he is some sort of prophet.
Nazim Richardson influence on Shane is so damn overblown it ain't funny. The same way Shane fought Mayorga is the same way he fought Margarito, which is to clinch and load up on the right and then keep on proceeding to do the same way. And obviously Nazim wasn't in Shane's corner in the Mayorga fight so its obvious that Shane beats Margarito in pretty much the same fashion with Jack Mosley in his corner. Let me make this clear that Shane deserves all the praise and accolades he got for dominating Margarito, its just that I don't believe Nazim should get the same level of praise cause Shane fought like that in the Mayorga fight.
Nazim is great for Mosley at this stage of his career. Mosley already has the experience and the ability to execute a good game plan, and Nazim will give him that plan, and to get him to use all his tools. Mosley and Nazim bring a great combination of what is needed to seriously challenge Mayweather.
what makes you think Nazim will give Mosley a great plan? Any prevous examples where Nazim gave someone a great plan to defeat a fighter who stays on his toes.
A lot of fighters lose their strategy when they fight Floyd, and they just start following him around the ring and reaching. Nazim will definitely bring a plan and make sure that Mosley sticks to it. The rest is up to what Mosley can do physically.
This will really be a test for Nazim as a trainer ..I think a convincing win over MW will put him in line with trainers like Freddie Roach .Can't wait to see what they have in store .
They're going to work on the overhand right. It's the only punch that, if thrown in the perfect spot, spills through the philly shell. Marquez landed that shot as not only the shorter fighter, but disadvantaged in reach AND speed. Mosley will work on this punch. He'll obviously be working on his jab. He'll watch all the things Oscar did WRONG and look at what kept Floyd stuck in the mud, whilst try to prevent what Floyd did to adapt to DLH. I think the Marquez and DLH fights, with possibly the Judah fight, are going to be the main viewing for gameplan. DLH being the guy with a great jab and size advantage coupled with speed and reach. And Marquez being his most recent fight, get a look at the type of Floyd to be expecting. Judah to look into the speed factor, although Judah's success came moreso from his stance as opposed to his speed. Although Emmanuel Augustus was getting his ass kicked, the man was giving Floyd SERIOUS fits and if he can employ the things EA was doing correct, along with Oscar's jab and Marquez's overhand right...we might see the correct gameplan.
the jab splits through the Philly shell well and kind of sets up the overhand right. Going from Floyd vs Oscar, when you throw a stiff jab at Floyd he will duck under it to his right and then if you chop a right behind it he is pretty open. Mosley's jab isn't really a stiff one though more of a flicker so I don't see him taking too much advantage of that. Floyd will likely lean back out of range of his right hands.
Absolutely! Mosley was leagues above Margarito as far as skill is concerned.....and though Richardson did a fabulous job of conveying across and reminding Shane on what had to be done.....Mosley likely did'nt need Richardson to get the job done....... Where Mosley will need Richardson is against Mayweather. Mosley I'm absolutely positively certain will not match witts with Mayweather.......its going to be up to Richardson to give him sound advice as Mosley comes back after every round not being able to find Mayweather...... Lets see how good a strategist Richardson really is against a master strategist in Mayweather Jr. ......something tells me Richardson is going to be repeating himself over and over again, because what Shane will attempt to do on Richardson's advice, is not going to be working. I'm rooting for Shane, and I'll be the first to hand both Mosley and Richardson their props if they pull off what I would consider a monumental upset.
I love Mosley as a fighter but I still have to keep things in perspective with him. At least someone here agrees with my stance on Mosley.
He's overrated as a trainer and as a strategist as far as i'm concerned. Most of his acclaim comes from the Margarito-Msoley fight... clinch a whole lot and throw a whole bunch of wide powerpunches. Gee, what a gameplan, I could've never thought of a gameplan like that myself.
The guy knows what is talking about. Remember that he was Bouie Fisher's assistant trainer while BHop was making all those championship defenses. He must have had significant input into the gameplan for many of those fights.
