Honestly Calz can retire now and walk off into his HOF sunset without even so much as looking at a ring ever again....

I cant wait to see if he squares off against hops but he doesnt need hops like some suggest ...at all.

The assertion that he needs Dawson is ****ing laughable .....yes would be a great fight and id almost pick dawson if the fought at 175 but please...Anything that Calz does from this point on is a favour to the boxing word no an olbligation

Fair enough, but he still has skills to offer and to prove to himself more than anyone. Anything else he does further enhances that

he'd be a hofer but would he be a legend? Would there be any legendary fighter or legendary fight he was involved in under his belt. Will anyone miss him?

To me, losing a great grueling fight against another great fighter is alot better then being undefeated against stiffs.

Legend is a personal concept. He will be a UK legend for many years to come.

I think he is a proven great fighter and definitely a top 100 ATG, but a victory over Dawson would be HUGE for his legacy and he does need that fight.

The gap between Calzaghe's talent and the quality of his resume is absolutely enormous. He needs more fights to come even close to satisfying what was incredible potential. It's possible that Calzaghe could have been one of the best ever, but I guess we'll never know.

I think that's a shame, and i'd like to see him get some big wins in the twilight of his career.

ARe you saying victories over schmucks Kessler and Lacy will make him an legend? You think dominating probably the most talent lacked division in boxing is a accomplishment for someone of Calzaghe's ability?

It's better to lose and put up a good effort against good opponents than beat bums.

God damn right. It is. It really is better to lose. This is why Moore is such a legend, he actually took on the very best at MW, LHW and HW, the very best from the black dynamite crew - guys like Booker, Burley and Williams that career best paydays couldn't get Sugar into the ring with - to Mariano, Patterson and Ali, ATG HW's. Of course he lost a few, but he is still an absolute legend.

He risked it all, over and over again.

Calzaghe's record would look better to me if he had moved up and lost against Jones. Especially if he had managed to take Jones a few rounds.

and if he beats hops ...it will be a case of he beat a 42 year old fighter and if he beats dawson he beat who?? So some of you guys Dawson adds more to his reume then Kessler ?? Bull****...Kessler was far more extablished in his div then Dawson....

YES OKAY YES ... i agree beating Hops and Chad will definalty add to his Legacy and Resume of course but thats not what I am posting im saying he doesnt need to

I went on record as saying he needed to fight Kessler that fight was a must to be considrede undisputed but some guys are carrying on like he's still unporven **** me we all thought he was going down against Lacy but he ****ing owned his ass

...Kessler hasnt really lost a round in how many fights?? has 2 belts and dominated everyone in front of him and after his loss to calz was considered a no one from a lot people on this board....

its a case of where do you draw the line and say you know what anything you do from this point is a bonus...thats what I am saying
