Why's it got to be 135-154? Are top lb4lb fighters suddenly limited to these weight classes?

 

PBF is #1, but Winky can make a big case with a convincing win over Hopkins. In my opinion, he would jump over Pacquiao. That is, unless Pacquiao were to beat Barrera and Marquez in consecutive fights.

However, a win over Hatton or Cotto would solidify PBF as #1.

 

Why anybody from 135-154? I thought you said pound for pound. That should include every division.

I have him pound for pound currently, but I don't think those than have Manny Pacquiao are crazy. Manny beat Barrera and Morales. He had a draw with Marquez, and many thought the knock downs in the first should have won that fight for him.

Zab Judah. Just lost to Baldo.
Baldomir. We all know the story here. (WBC and linear 147 champ)
ODLH. (WBC 154 champ)


I would say yes. And I'm not a great fan of Hatton, but lately he's fought better fighters.

 

Baldomir, Judah, Bruseles, Gatti, Mitchell, Corley, Sosa, over the hill la Hoya are not elite at least not when Floyd got to them. So I’ll give him two for his carreer including Corrales and Castillo.

Modern 135-154 lbs. Fighters who have fought more prime elite fighters include De La Hoya, Tszyu, Castillo, Casamayor, Raheem, Frietas, Corrales, Forest, Ouma, Gatti, Mayorga, Winky, Trinidad, Mosley, Quartey, Vargas, Whitaker, Julio Caesar Chavez etc…..

Heck, Margarito's wins over Clottey (who pounded Baldomir better than Floyd) and Cintron are way more impressive than Floyd’s latest wins.

Floyd's not old school like the above fighters he's just become a fattened franchise

Name the last good opponent Baldo beat, that wasn't the above asshat. Gatti??? We all saw how much he's got left in the tank last weekend.

KT better than ODLH? Probably about the same. ODLH has won exactly how many fights in the last 3 years? Against who?? You can even throw in the gimme against Sturm if you like.

Are you saying KT couldn't have beat 90% of the fighters at 140 before Hatton? Ask Sharmba about that. Especially as Sharmba is on Floyds "this is what makes me great" list.

Floyd IMO is far and away the best boxer around at the moment. He just doesn't fight the people to prove it, that's all.

It's like New Zealand only playing rugby against Italy, Scotland and Spain, because they know they can beat the **** out of them 99.9 times out of 100.

 

Kostya's claim to fame is becoming undisputed champ, and clearing out a division, and ruling it for a few years.

Fighting mandatories and clearing out a division OR stepping up a division and picking the weakest belt holder, then leaving the weight before being forced to defend a title.

You've just said so yourself. Don't defend the title. Move on, and find the weakest link in the next weight.

Out of all of Floyds last few fights, only Baldo hasn't himself stepped up weight classes too.

You can bet your sweet arse Floyd will never ever fight anyone who actually STARTED in the higher weight classes. Or who is really naturally bigger, unless they are ****. eg Baldo.


Floyd is without doubt a cherry picker.

Defend your title? **** that say Floyds fans, he might actually have to fight somebody that stands a chance then.
