Boxing is still very new there. Amateur program didnt start until 1986 when ali vsited there. And yeah there is a bias towards martial arts. They think kung fu or wushu will beat a boxer. You also have understand most boxers in china are minority ethnic groups and not han ppl which is the majority of china. The minority races and han ppl often dont get along so, will they really support a fighter whose chinese by nationality but not han ppl like most of china?
