Based on what I saw last night, there’s no way Bellew would touch Usyk or Breidis. Like Skoglünd, I hadn’t seen much of Breidis before WBSS but I’ll def look out for him in future.

Why are you so obsessed with Bellew. It was a great unification fight and a semi final in a great tournament. The last thing I’m thinking of is a fighter who last thought at the weight 18 months ago?

Now on to the PPV side. David Haye was the biggest star in British boxing for the best part of a decade and like it or not he was a PPV figher. Tony Bellew has purposely called him out for that reason. He’s a human. He wants to provide for his family, he’s went for the biggest pay day possible. Can you really begrudge him for that? Wouldn’t you do that for your family? I would.

In regards to the fight itself between them I found the build up completely cringeworthy and wwf like. It was hard to watch.

The fight itself was great though. Not many can deny that. Bellew was meant to be in hospital by the 2nd or 3rd Bell. it was full of drama and twists and turns and I am actually looking forward to them in the ring again (not the build up) because I genuinely don’t know what way it’s going to go!

As for the warrior stuff you can go all the way back to Stevenson and judge him or you can judge him on his performances since then. I actually dislike him because of the **** he spouts but you cannot knock that world title win. It was one of the great sights in boxing, a proper fairy tale. Then you can judge him on his latest bout. Fighting a considerably bigger man, a big puncher who was gona knock him out within a round a 2. He came through that and all the way to the 5th/6th? Was it before Haye got injured. Haye threw everything he had at him before then and couldn’t get him out of there. Again I’d say that’s warrior like.

Each to their own. But just appreciate Usyk Breidis for what it was. A great standalone event.

Good post. Bellew is a tool and is getting worse by the week with the tripe he talks...but I do have a soft spot for him. He’s a clever lad, he saw right through the Haye comeback hype and saw a wounded animal. He made a load of money out of it and no matter what anyone says, Haye couldn't knock him out in them first 6 1/2 rounds.
People harp back to him getting leathered off Stevenson...the fella was/is a top light heavy. He didn’t quit, he just got punched silly throughout the fight. There’s no shame in that. He wasn’t on his level. It makes no sense going down to fight at cruiser, he’d end up cabbaged for peanuts.

Err Haye had not been in a fight since Plodder Chisora at Upton Park in July 2012, broken body widely known, only back for the PPV money and badly injured before the Yellow Bellew fight.

The PPV mugs are being conned

Let them. If people want to pay for it then more fool them. It has absolutely no relevance on your life or a Usyk thread.

Bellew being able to call himself 'world champion' despite never going near the top fighters in the division sums up most of what is wrong with boxing today.

Can't entirely blame him for that, but you'd hope he'd tone it down a little bit considering it's something he knows only too well.

Can't really blame him for the Haye circus neither. If you've been getting paid relatively low amounts to get punched in the face for half of your life, then I think most people would take getting paid a huge amount to get punched a few more times. Even if it is a bit of a farce.

Again, I hope when he hangs them up we see a bit more humility from him. I think we will as well. He seems like a decent enough guy when he's not assuming his ridiculous 'willing to die in the ring' character.

Avoiding the WBSS is his legacy - the non title fight with fellow actor Haye is just as bad as the Fraud v Conman Exhibition fight.

Hatton would never have dreamed of ducking this win or lose and that is why boxing fans love him and hate Yellow Bellew
