I thought it was implied that it was a lot of power, however improbable it seemed. Whatever the truth is, even a light punching successful professional HW is gonna hit harder than an average man of his size. Vince Dundee, Teddy Yarosz, Babe Risko, Paddy DeMarco, Orlando Zulueta, Ken Overlin, Saoul Mamby, Gustavo Ballas and you can throw in Ossie Ocasio and Sugarboy Malinga.
so what ? :rofl he couldn't break a egg, Wlado has a glass chin and he made Chris bleed from his ears :deal Chris literally hit like a girl, fast as anything however, just hit so softly it was crazy. He should of played the violin instead. Anyways, definitely would rank Byrd as one of the top 10 softest punchers ever, Howard Davis comes to mind as well.
I doubt Byrd could of knocked out Hawking even in his prime. He hit like a swan. Calzagie was another, he hit like a sparrow.
Watch the video i linked above....You think it was BS, & Byrd literally hit like a grrrrl? C'mon man, that seems silly. Some like Ali & even old Foreman threw some pitter-pat strategic punches, but a top level HW who could not even hit as hard as an average man of his size would be highly unusual. What if you jus' propped Hawking up against the ropes, no wheelchair allowed... Could Byrd floor him then over 12 rounds?
no wheel chair allowed? he cant walk or stand without his wheel chair dude, if Byrd didn't connect asap Hawking would be on his way to the canvas anyways, how would we know it was because of Byrd ?? Don't get me wrong, Byrd hit hard compared to a average man, just compared to other boxers he didn't hit very hard. Fast hands however, plus good reflexes and timing.
I am glad you are rational on things. Yes he hit hard compared to an average man his size at least. The video is not a lie. Now you figured out a good point! Hawking has no muscle tone &or control, so I suppose you would have to9 either entange him in the ropes, or lean him so his bodyweight is distributed pretty equally, but then much of his body would be outside of the ring. Also he would be a septuagenarian strawweight, he is so emaciated I cannot see him above the 105 limit, so it would not be a legal match... Now I gotta find someone over 200 lbs. as vulnerable for the hypothetical question.
