Yea i was rooting for him in that fight. I thought his power would be too much for Juan but it proved me wrong and made me jump on the Diaz bandwagon.

I honestly wasn't thinking Freitas would win that fight. He was retired, much less hungry and was not a puncher anymore. He had no business there. I just didn't expect he would quit again. I hope the best for Diaz.

    Mayweather's #1, period.

Would love to see Cotto fight him, ...but PBF wins that too.

To all the PBF haters, you say that he hasnt fought anyone, well neither has anyone else. Cotto fought a past prime mosley and everyone says hes hot **** but criticise mayweather for fighting a past prime odlh. Only person williams has fought is margarito and likewise for margarito. Cintron got destroyed by margarito and barely got past his last fight. Judah has got his ass kicked by top level fighters. The only one on the list who has fought top level competition is mosley but hes past his prime so he cant be number 1. Mayweather is #1 and thats that, the rest follows. Stop hating...please

I agree and disagree, substitue Floyd for number eight and number nine and then call it top 9 welterweight with Floyd on top, Cotto next, and Mosley below that, followed by Williams, then Margarito....and then your thread makes beautiful sense.

Given that Judah had all the belts, and was undisputed, and Baldomir should have had all the belts after beating him, explain to me why they are not true Welters?

I dont know why people say "who does mayweather have to beat to be given his dues!!!" Um how about the true welters
Cotto: in my opinion fought harder competition than mayweather
Williams: Beat margo, although i think margo can win a rematch
Margo: He had a strong showing against williams and embarrased cintron, and damn near made clottey quit.

From a business stand point i see why he doesnt fight them, not enough money. But The nutthuggers say hes the best in the world. He himself has claimed all time greatness. Greatness doesnt come by ducking the best and beating old and blown up fighters. Thats why Mayweather doesnt get his props

If you actually watch the margarito clottey fight you will see that clottey was clearly winning if he did not hurt his hand. Williams is a freak but gets hit way too much. Yea, margarito did destroy cintron but cintron clearly isnt on mayweathers level. Cotto hasnt fought anyone tougher than who mayweather has fought. They both fought bast prime welters in ssm and odlh. They both fought judah. Mayweather fought hatton and Cotto fought malignaggi. Other than that neither one has fought anyone among the tip ten welters so if you gonna say mayweather hasnt fought anyone well then neither has the rest of the welters either.

My list would go like this:

    Mayweather
    Cotto
    Mosley
    Williams
    Margarito
    Cintron
    Judah
    Collazo
    Clottey
    Quintana

I just don't see how some are having margarito and williams over cotto... if you compare all 3 resumes you could clearly see who has faced better opposition... people are just deciding on who they think who would beat who and deciding like that... it doesnt work like that...

Yea and SSM is superior to DLH not to mention is still top 3 in my welters list here is mine.

    1. Miguel Angel Cotto and PBF
    3. Sugar Shane Mosley
    4. Paul Williams and Antonio Margarito
    6. Kermit Cintron
    7. Zab Judah
    8. Joshua Clottey (though his last showing was kinda pathetic)
    9. Carlost Quintana
    10. Andre Berto.

    1. Cotto and PBF are tied solely because they both have recently moved to the WW division and head to head they would be hell for everyone and a favorite in my book. IMO this is a crowded division and the one who wants to be recognized as the best should collect more belts and unify. With appropriate Welters not Light middles or light Welters (PBF). Cotto so far to me seems like he will fight top contenders no matter their popularity but i cant put him ahead of PBF because he has some damn good skill. However he hasnt faced a live dangerous welter.
    3. Mosley is old over the hill supposedly but he is damn good still and his skill are still enough to compete in this the most talented division.
    4. PW im not so sure about. He has the physical abilities but he barely beat Margarito and i believe a rematch would be different. He hasnt proved **** to be the best yet. Margarito has no technique and guys like that i dont like to rate high because they usually fall short. However he has a chin power and a high work rate so i put him here.
The rest are really not that important and i dont believe will be a factor other than Berto but he wont be ready for a year or more.

Mayweather is the best head to head.
