I do sympathise, really, but those exceptional wins just aren't clawing back those 25 odd losses and the one round clipping by Singer really hurt him for me. I'd re-intrudce him before Jack, personally.

That can't be a difference maker in the light of Joyce's domination of the Ike Williams series. He also picked Armstrong off twice.

When you come back, talk to me about LaMotta's low ranking and O'Brien's high one.

I can prop up LaMotta based upon the title run and the Robinson win; I know that. But what's real?

Lewis's placement does look kind of disgusting, but he beat everyone he fought and the longevity is ****ed up if you count from Mason. I could drop him, no doubt. If I did, it would have the three amigos in a row which would be beautiful.

O'Brien, again, can be propped up by Johnson and by his domination of Twin Sullivan. But he tended to be second best against the best. It's an excellent record but all that **** with Burns makes me wonder about him. He may be the only proven dirty fighter on the list aside from LaMotta.

Took the Williams series but was proven clearly the lesser man in his series with Larkin who, again, Jack smashed up. Both guys met a faded Armstrong, but where Joyce won a close one, then lost, then won, then lost to the great man, Jack needed but one fight to get a clear-cut victory. It'd be interesting to see who was held in higher regard at the time seeing as how they come from the same era.

As far as straight up P4P feats go, what does Joyce have to match the 2-0 against Zivic? That's quality stuff. I don't think Jack is a guarantee for a spot or anything, but it does seem odd that a naturally larger man in Zivic, whom he bested both times they met, is so clearly ranked above him. Again, I think Jack and Joyce are real close any which way you want to compare them, so it's pretty convenient that the two actually met and settled matters in the ring.

Why on earth not? He's in my top 10 at hw and he's generally just behind Joe Frazier who broke the list. His inclusion is entirely consistent based upon his period of total dominance and just how far behind Frazier do you feel he should be?

I'm actually toying with taking him out for Foreman as we speak, Tyson may have jumped the que a bit that regard, but I don't think it looks "what the ****" worthy at all.

Yeah the singer loss is really bad when you see what bat did to singer , and to think they probably took singer instead of berg who after beating canzoneri that same year would of been the top contender.

    lol It's a shock.

Tyson is a H2H force, I have him possibly KO'ing Frazier, or Frazier getting the better later on maybe, and I give him a good shot against Foreman too.
He did have a period of total dominance...but who did he dominate? A blown up light heavy at best..
Tyson doesn't have a legacy. That's the problem. H2H terms, yeah he's good, but then so is George Foreman for example...and George has a better legacy also.

    Ooooh, Foreman.

Forget Jack for now, do the Foreman-Tyson shuffle. Guy bounced Frazier around the ring and had two different careers. Only loss that really hurts is Young and that's certainly no worse than getting spanked by Douglas.

I was looking at Frazier's ranking and thinking exactly that...but the main thing for me is that I just can't get him taking a knee in the corner after winning back the title out of my head. Never did "two-times champion" mean more.

He's in for the monumental achievment.
