    What happened in that fight?

Boxrec has the New York Times claiming O'Brien was pulled? This is not accurate?

Police stopped the fight after O'Brien was knocked down, but was in no danger of getting knocked out. I didn't write down the exact list of votes in my scrapbook (strange, as I thought I had done this not long time ago), but based on a dozen or more of different ringside opinions, it was split about evenly, thus I'd consider it a newspaper draw.

Would love to engage on the McCoy/O'Brien bit but this is not the time or thread. Jeff Clarke I would feel stronger about but I avoided this thread like an alcoholic avoids whiskey(with an e) but I'm sure we will engage again on this. Brilliant work and great list, well, well done.

But if it was stopped early isn't that a bull**** stoppage rather than a draw? Sounds more like a NC.

    NYT report is bs?

The referee gave no decision, nobody was counted out, O'Brien got up after a knockdown and they were about to resume fighting when the bell was rung. It's only that the last round was cut short by about a minute, because the police thought it became too brutal and had had orders to stop it in such case.

Yeah, that's what it says, one-minute 38 seconds.

Sounds like an interpretation problem to me is all.

Also, if the rounds are split evenly, but with one knock down to fitz, wouldnt that make Fitz the winner on points? I know that we often score one fights by round back then, but surely in an official ND or a fight that was stopped early by police, this entitles you to a newspaper decision if it is not considered no decision?
