Charles actually has an argument to be ranked above Langford. I tend to feel the top 4 are locked but something about Langford just seems less distinguished and great than Greb, Armstrong, and Robinson. I never really get how Langford gets rated #1. I still have Charles at #5 behind Langford at #4 but I see less gap between those two then I do the other three. Am I crazy?

I think Charles has a solid enough case to be over all but Robinson and Greb, personally. Langford usually outranks him for me though.

Born into a world with violence, death and destruction surrounding him at every turn. Sam Langford took control of his own destiny and expired to become one of the foremost leaders of the criminal underworld. Regardless of his will, and the ability to run the streets with invincibility, there were still those who chose to stand in his way.

He has a solid case to be above Robinson too.

I know you know it's true, Cobra.

The fact that it is seemingly a fad emphasises the shitness in judging.

I don't count Blackburn for Greb. A good fighter in his own right, but he's not in the HOF because of what he did inside of the the ring.

Oh, I think it is reasonable to have Blackburn in that type of company regardless, don't you?

Not just for ability in the ring, I don't think.

i think its fair to include him among the elite names, but hes not in the hof as a boxer and he hadn't won in ages when he fought greb

Herman Miller, Dave Holly, George Cole, Joe Gans, Mike Donovan, draws With Langford and Sullivan...there are plenty of Hofers that get nowhere near that, no?
