I've already said I rank it on a case by case basis. Pedroza's title run is not as prestigious or impressive as Monzon's. Therefore those level of wins wouldn't put them over Monzon, who was a truly great champion.

I don't consider Pedroza a truly great champion so it comes down to other things. Consistency, well he scores highly there. Quality of opposition? No, not really. Skillset? Well, as we're talking about three of Panama's greatest stylists of all time, I go on their best showings; Pedroza's are against the likes of Carrasquilla, Ford, Sibaca. Marcel's against Shibata, Gomez and Arguello. Laguna's are Carlos Ortiz and Mando Ramos. I have to give the edge to the other two, ever so f'n slightly.

No, my list would not just be based on that. Just as yours isn't just based on consistency and long undefeated stretches, which is Pedroza seems to be largely ranking on. Taking in their prime runs yeah the numbers won't be up to Pedroza's, that much I concede.

 

Especially as Wlad was an Olympic champion and Pedroza was learning on the job.

To be honest, one thing I haven't taken into account is the consistency of Pedroza's moustache which was truly one of the finest of the 80s, an era that had Souness, Rush and Aldridge as well as Hall and Oates and prime Hulk Hogan. This should've been mentioned earlier as Pedroza then would've been a justifiable lock for the top 50.

Saads facial hair was weak. He's a great fighter but he's not on the level of even Danny Lopez, moustache wise.

 

I think Ohba might've done what Kingpetch didn't, take the hint and move up in weight. Maybe he gets to Herrera after Borkorsor? Maybe he gets to Rodolfo Martinez, which would likely be an up and down thriller?

Either way, he's gonna' run into Borkorsor or, eventually, Zarate. So somewhere down the line he's gonna' get horribly mullered.
