Shirai was as good asthose guys Vic, no doubt. He looks good in the footage I've seen of him (well, pretty good, got more in the pipeline though) and was the man at the weight with some solid wins over Allen and Marino.

Vic you know who gave Shirai hassle? A young and inexperienced Leo Espinosa :D

My argument will be as foolproof as always. This is a particularly easy one anyway.

It's not just that they were bad. They just weren't as good as the numerous quality scalps many lower weight legends have.

Taking it right up the other end where is Young Stribling? Would anyone argue Lopez as greater than this man?!

I don't think Lopez can make it. I don't see how Calzaghe will make it.

    That's the ticket.

People kept referring to him as Saint Paul's greatest boxer and all that **** there, too.

I just don't see Burley, Williams, Ross, Tony or Sandy ahead of Whitaker in a P4p sense.. Guess I'm not just not seeing that big buddy.

    Gibbons stuff, that's cool. Anyway...

I agree with luf on Hopkins over Sanchez, but he can at least be switched in for Gomez. Gomez and Zarate can be same tier, as long as Wilfredo is numerically higher everything is peachy, but Hopkins has a dominant reign to match, the deeper resume, freaky-ass longevity, success above his career-division, and looks damned brilliant on film himself.

Hopkins, Pacquiao, Mayweather, and TK Lewis are all greater than Gomez (and probably Sal and Rocky, too).
