 the man who was to give prime Roy problems after crushing Hopkins isn't worthy?

Negative. Unless you think Attell, Welsh and maybe Wolgast are top 50, too?

Attell could well be. Find Welsh hard to gauge as reports paint him as a coaster in everything other than the most important bouts. Is Sanchez really a greater feather than Attell?

Also Marcel>Pedroza and Marcel ain't gettin' in (wouldn't scrape into it on mine either)

And Turbo WTF are you chatting about now mate?

I think "could be but isn't" is how I would see it. I agree with you about Welsh, but can you really say that he's behind Driscoll in a meaningful way? .

Welsh was the champ, he beat ****ing Benny I introduced him specifically because I see him as a gauge for these guys (a bit like Yarosz is for that crew). They come as a bundle, or something like it. If you put a gun to my head and say "WHICH ONE OF THESE ****ERS SHOULD RANK HIGHER OR I BLOW YOU AWAY" i'd probably say Welsh tbh, these days.

I've flip-flopped on this one but come down quite heavily on the side of Sanchez now, yes. I just think he was such a little monster at the weight. He's like a Roy or a Whitaker for me almost.

    new flavour though.

If you're serious about Driscoll moving up that far i'll hear you out of course. But I don't see it. I know one or two serious guys will, but I don't.

Including the year 1999 and only world tittle fights and going up to and including the mayweather jr fight Oscar goes W7 - L5 and that is including sturm in the win column which is generous

The PAC fight is not included in the above

Before 1999 Oscar had some decent wins but the big names were past their best and most of the others he fought for world tittles we're moving up in weight to get the chance at Oscar giving him the optimum advantage possible. It was very good management and a great way to move a fighter that the media were willing to use as much as possible as no one can doubt how popular he was and indeed loved by the American public

Just to clarify: Marcel Cerdan doesn't have what it takes to crack this?

I'd tend to have LaMotta above Cerdan? And we are squeaky bum time now gents.

Middleweight is more stacked than I thought, for some reason.

    Driscoll

Meh, Welsh was getting the upper hand on Driscoll in their fight. By the sounds of it, Welsh didn't sound that 'dirty' by todays standards...kidney punching, name calling, aiming for a wound near Driscoll's ear.
Dixon was also past his prime when he fought Driscoll.
The win against Abe Attell was pretty much a 50-50 fight from what I read. Some gave it to Attell.
The loss to Pal Moore doesn't really count as Driscoll was pretty ill.

Marciano in Tier VI, doesn't that make him the 3rd greatest heavyweight of all time?

Unless like Langford or Charles are ahead of him? I know this isn't divisional rankings but shouldn't heavyweights follow the same order as their divisional rankings?

His best wins he had pre-99 was Oscar moving up to fight them.

It's just odd that you dock him points for being bigger against some of his best wins, yet don't dock points in bouts/losses where his opponents were using steroids to gain the upper hand. Or do you only factor that stuff when it's Oscar who looks good in the end  :verysad

Just pointing out how ridiculously hyped Trinidad was after beating Joppy. Those were mad times. Now people don't even suggest top 100.

Yeah, I tend to rank him at #3 these days.

But it's a p4p list. You can see why on a p4p list the 180lb Marciano might be #6 on HW list but still rank p4p ahead of Lennox Lewis were he 4?

Maybe he was moving up but the fighters he was fighting were past their best the best ones were think. And there were quite a few tittle fights when his opponents were moving up to fight him .

Got to take one of kids out but am willing to talk about our differing views later if you want a friendly difference of views is always good
