It's a good post BE. I promise to re-read it before I make a final call on Monday.

Jones is my favourite fighter of all time but doesn't have the depth of resume to be that high IMO.

It's heavily supplemented though. On film he has few peers (maybe four or five?), concerns about his chin notwithstanding. He is the first and last former middleweight to beat a 200lb plus fighter for a world title. He was, at one stage 48-1 with the only loss a shithouse dq across fourteen years. Toney-Jones is probably the most severe domination of any meeting between (arguably) the p4p #1 and #2. Toney is the second of two fighters on the list that he utterly dominated, as though they were nothing. He basically remained unextended whilst beating up some of the best fighters in the world and his division.

I think this is ok for him.

I still think de la Hoya should drop at least one more tier and if you don't of the current tier he is in he should be the bottom of that tier numerically

All of those things make up for the lethargic carrying of inferior 175lbers that he ended up going to.

He was a pretty big middle as well. Would he have had the same P4P achievements had he had fought in an era with same day weigh in's?

I agree he's pretty much peerless on film. All of these things would put him in my top 50, but not 30, then again it appears we have slightly different criteria in assembling these kinda' lists, not a big issue.

Any fighter who gets starched by Mason Dixon has no business being among the top 30 of all time, lufcrazy. Dixon couldn't even see off a 60 year old has-been.

    :rofl

You could argue it the other way IMO, but I lean to Leonard's bigger wins.

I disagree. But, I'd reckon, we can both agree on Broner above both of them...
