    Hagler above Bivins please.

The last case for Frazier is his performance in Manilla. His performance in Manilla is just as legacy aiding as Lewis wins over Tyson & Tua as far as I'm concerned. And is more legacy aiding than Lewis' redemption of McCall & Rahman for the mere fact that he had to seek redemption not once, but twice. Lewis did beat every man he faced but the fact he had to face that man more than once is less great than battling Ali clearly past your prime to an unbelievably and unforgettable battle.

Lastly, and I mean it this time. Frazier never lost in his prime, at least not at his absolute peak. Yes, he was champion when Foreman upset and dethroned him but what did the Jamaicans say about Frazier. They said he looked puffy and overweight. Frazier was ten pounds over his best weight and never had quite the same intensity after proving to the world that he was the true champion whence thrashing Quarry, Ellis, & as Frazier calls him, "The Butterfly." Lewis did in fact lose at his best and within his prime.

If you want longevity than keep Lewis, but if you want greatness than add Joe 'Smokin' Frazier.

Walker should arguably be as high as #12. I can better see Louis at #13.

Your last bit is an unnecessary addition to your argument.

I can jive with that. But Pep at least has to be the fit in the top 10. At some point you have to respect his consistency. I'd have Pep over Duran, personally, though.

Let's not be giving Walker more championships than is necessary. He never actually won the LHW championship, though he did hold a newspaper win over McTigue, who was champ at the time. He did run Loughran close on a couple of occasions, I'll grant...but never actually won the championship.

I think Walker's occasional inconsistency hurts him a little bit. E.g. Tough to imagine SRL allowing himself to get sliced up by a good-but-not-great Joe Dundee during his welterweight prime...or even at the point when he campaigned as a MW against Hagler.

I really do get where Walker is because of the type of list it is. Duran still needs to be above Louis, though.

Agreed...though I ranked Walker in my top 10 last time I did a personal list in some thread here, IIRC....

But have you actually read his take on Delahoya? His view on Delahoya is all madness.

Are you joking? You don't think Ray Leonard would have lost some bouts if he had a 162 fight career campaigning from WW-HW? Loughran is an ATG LHW and P4P boxer, McTigue a great while walker was 5'7. Can you really imagine Leonard beating Saad, fighting on even terms with Spinks and beating Weaver and Coetzee. Please, just no.

Leonard would have lost some bouts, but I don't think he loses to the likes of Joe Dundee or Latzo ever while at or near his best.

And, in my mind, it's debatable whether the welterweight incarnation of the Toy Bulldog can deal with Tommy Hearns or Duran, along with Benitez and Kalule, and come out of the experience having suffered one narrow loss.

Walker was awesome, and yeah, he did beat some good solid heavyweights when he moved up and started fighting at what is now SMW. But those very occasional losses suffered against solid but not spectacular opposition hurt him slightly in rankings like these. Not by much, but not just enough for me to question whether he should automatically be ranked in the top 10, or just above SRL.:bart
