    1. Larry Holmes
    2. Sonny Liston; he knocked out guys with his jab
    3.Wlad Klitchkos
    4. Pernell Whitaker
    5. Ali.

    Good list to start:good

    But I'd make some changes

    1.Larry Holmes
2.Sonny Liston-more power than Holmes but Larry made a career off this punch
    3.Ali
    4.Ike Quartey
    5.Joe Louis

Almost: Tommy Hearns, Fighting Harada (watch his fights with Jofre for reference)

Good jabs all but Winky's is nowhere near Liston's. Good choice with Lewis but he didn't really start using it til Manny got on board

I don't necessarily think he had the greatest jab of all-time but it was extremely under-appreciated. He was an excellent technician.

Jack Johnson also had an excellent jab. His speciality was slipping the jab and countering with his own.

Is there a reason people are nameing pre-dominantly heavies?

Of all the lists so far, 4 of the 5 have been heavyweights.

I'm just going to piggyback this into making a top 5 Hw jab list; I know it's not what the thread called for, but I can't pretend to be able to rank all the people across weights into just 5 when it comes to this.

    1a)Holmes
    1b)Wlad
    3) Liston
    4)Ali
    5) Lewis

Holmes and Wlad rank at the top for me because they each had a tremendously balenced jab- speed, power, accuracy, length, and gameplans that kept them using it. Liston had a jackhammer of a jab, but I don't think he could really snap it out there as fast as some of the others on the list. Ali had speed and precision, but it wasn't as damaging as the others, but still effective. Lewis had a very good all-around jab, but he didn't focus on it as much as the others.

    I'll let someone else do a P4P one. :D

Good list, maybe Willie Pep could squeeze in there somewhere.
