    I'm surprised only a few mentioned Tarver/RJJ 1.

OK, so Hagler's win over Hearns wasn't great, and neither was Monzon's wins over Griffith and Napoles.

By the same logic, Leonard's win over Duran and Hearns's win over Duran weren't great either.

Don't make very general statements if what you really want to do is discredit Bernard Hopkins, as history will embarrass you.

What do you mean "so what"? You were the one who pointed out Trinidad was "much smaller", I merely pointed out that he wasn't at all. If size was so unimportant that your reaction to finding out the facts about it is "so what", then why bring it up in the first place?

Do you seriously not believe Hagler-Hearns was not one of the top 5 wins of the 1980s? Or that Monzon's wins over Griffith and/or Napoles were great wins?

If you look at Trinidad pre-Hopkins and post-Hopkins, you will see the difference in him. Like many other fighters (Hamed, maybe Hatton too), once the '0' is gone, they never regain the same confidence and quality. Wright had an easier opponent in front of him.

So you think his dedication should diminish his standing? wtf? Where´s the logic? Does that mean beeing not in shape is a good thing? Beeing in good shape is part of the sport, Hopkins didn´t drain himself he made the weight easily. That´s what every fighter should do.
What advantages did Hopkins have? Trinidad was the huge favourite, nobody thought Hopkins gonna win and now in hindsight you say Hopkins had all the advantages? BS!

Surely, Louis-Schmeling 2 has to amongst the top-five? I mean, that wasn't just about two fighters going to battle in the ring. That was looked upon as Germany vs America.

For me, Louis' win was one of the most significent in boxing history, if not THE most significent.

    Calzaghe-Kessler:

    1. Close to 60.000 spectators.
    2. The largest none-HW purse in Europe EVER.
    3. Two undefeated champion with several years dominance between them.

I know it didn't happen in the US, but if we try to be a little less US-biased it has to be up there.

Honestly, this is getting ridiculous. Every single ****ing post I ever read of yours mentions American bias - every single one! It's ****ing boring. Did some quarterback beat you up and take your lunch money every day or something?? Joe Calzaghe is ranked #2 p4p by The Ring - an American magazine - so to continually whinge and moan about how the Yanks hate him is just garbage. It does you and Calzaghe fans no credit whatsoever.

Here's an idea - stop posting in this forum then, and stick to the British, if bias is so rife in here.

Now to address your actual point:

WTF have the amount of spectators or the size of the purse have to do with the 2 criteria I laid out at the start of the thread? Absolutely ZERO. Shite post. Hatton-Lazcano should be up there by your shitty logic.

Joe Calzaghe said himself in his autobiograohy written in 2007 that Kessler was unproven at the top level.

An admittedly very good win over a largely unproven opponent is simply not good enough to be in THE top 5 wins of the century so far.

And I'm from Scotland, so leave your pathetic accusations out of your reply.

Despite your obsessions with national bias, your posts on Calzaghe exhibit more bias than the vast majority of people on here.

So you are a pinoy living in Scotland?

No you moron, I am a Scot living in Scotland who thinks Manny Pacquiao fights are very exciting to watch, and also likes Alexis Arguello (Nicaragua) and Aaron Pryor (USA) as well as many others, as you can tell from my avatar.

I am a BOXING fan, not a BOXER fan, whereas you are a petty biased nationalistic flag-saluting cheerleader whose opinion is of no value to anyone because it is more about nationality than boxing.

Disappear to the British Forum and let boxing fans talk boxing.
