For about three years now, the world's top area in boxing, pertaining to depth of world class fighters, has been the San Francisco bay area. That fact has become more so ever since, and cannot be overstated as of now.

Three years ago, this offended many, and many disagreed, yet the argument could not be refuted. At the time, the bay area had undefeated gold medalist Andre Ward coming off of his breakout fight over Mikkel Kessler, Nonito Donaire with his brutal KO upset over Vic Darchinyan under his belt, and Robert Guerrero, already having dominated the featherweight division and on his way up through the weight classes.

All three fighters had held significant world titles at the time and have, for the most part, ever since. These fighters were bred in the bay area, and currently reside in the bay area. Their combined record in the past three years (2010-2012) is 20-0. Not too shabby if you ask me. If the statement was even arguable three years ago, which it was not, it's not even close today.

Consider Ward's recent KO of Chad Dawson, Guerrero's recent victorious war over Andre Berto, and Donaire looking flawless against an overmatched, and yes I admit, past his prime, Jorge Arce. These guys are untouchable for the time being!

As if Ward, Donaire, and Guerrero weren't enough, feel free to add up-and-comer Karim Mayfield, 17-0-1, to the mix. But if for some sick reason this thread angers you, I can assure you that was not my purpose.

However, if one were to at least attempt to make an argument for argument's sake, I would love to hear that argument. In other words, which area of the world has the best fighters aside from the bay area? Also, which area of the world has dominated boxing at one particular time throughout history?

couldn't be more prouder. but i'm a little dissappointed in nonito donaire. ghost and ward have both brought fights to us hometown fans, but not donaire. does he think he's too good and too big a star for bay area? ward is my favorite since he's brought the most fights to oakland.

97 views and not a single argument. I think it's safe to say my claim is undisputed. I also think it's safe to say your previous wish to see these three all on the same fight card in the bay area will never happen. There's gotta be a law somewhere that prohibits having that much talent in one building at the same time anyway. A few years ago I saw Karim Mayfield on the undercard of a Ward fight in San Jose....maybe even two or three times. That is most likely the closest I'll ever come to seeing the bay's top fighters on one card. I also saw Nonito fight in Vallejo before anybody knew who the hell he even was. But I must agree with you....now that you've blown up, how about a fight at Oracle Mr. Donaire? What the hell? Good point there Mo.

I must say, the tone has changed since I posted this thread:

    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=205701

All the **** talkers in that past thread have since helped themselves to several servings of an ESB delicatessen known as "shut the **** up". They must have even stored large quantities of "shut the **** up" in their freezers, or wherever, because not a single one of those jerk offs have popped their head up even once this time.

Read the thread and weep....bitches! You know who you are.
